Hmm, in the microseries I thought that he was a bit over the top, but perhaps it fits more with the more feral "I am the dark side"* Sheev from DE. I'll need to listen to it now that I own it.

*A line enhanced by RotS, as are the whole cheating death plot and the three Jedi lightsabers.

Nick Jameson also did Palpatine in a few video games. IIRC, he did him in the ROTS game at least. Maybe that's the only one Palpatine is in?

Jameson was Palpatine in a lot of stuff. Per the Wook:

And this is just the games and Genndy CW series.

Yeah I figured I just couldn't think of any games Palpatine was in besides ROTS.

I wonder if Palps is in BF3, and if he's voiced by Witwer.

BTW, for those wondering, these guys are the "Force-using stormtroopers" that were being discussed on the last page.

The disclaimer at the top of that page is a thing of beauty, incidentally.

They were not actively using the Force in the comics, right?

Because if they did so do I not remember that part.

No, that looks like an addition of another source. In the comic they're just (barely) elite mooks.

Why the heck would Galen Marek be in the NEU?

    "WAAA JUNO WAAAAAAAA."

Yeah brilliant. Witwer's cool, but he could do with some better material.

And I'm going to throw it out there again that, rather than an original story, TFU should have been the "movie" adaptation of "Dark Empire", with the player in the role of 'Sith apprentice' Luke. Ideally bringing Hamill back.

Hey, he's part of FFG's canon, for what that's worth.

... is he? Now I'm extremely curious.

I'd love for him to show up in some form in the new canon.

That's all I could find. I wish I could see more. I first became familiar with it via YouTube videos about or involving Sidious Palpatine, and it was easy to deduce that the animation depicting him was from Dark Empire, considering the way his hair and clothes look.

I prefer the original artwork in the graphic novels. It's just so unusual and I daresay gothic. Luke looks really creepy when he's a darksider. What they did with shadows and color was amazing. I used to not be a fan of the idea of Sidious coming back in clone bodies or Luke falling to the dark side, but I've come to like the story as I originally did many years ago. Besides, Luke is one of my all-time favorite Star Wars characters, and Palpatine is pretty much the main antagonist of the films and even the EU (being the worst of all Sith). I can see why Timothy Zahn didn't want to allude to the series in his work, and I do like his Thrawn Trilogy more than Dark Empire per se. But that's just a personal preference.

Kyle Katarn is awesome, but I don't see him being added to the new Battlefront.

Did the man give power to the beard, or did the beard bestow power to the wearer? Thus is the eternal question.

I'd take Kyle Katarn in BF3.

    No reason not to.

And the beard is definitely what led to the cult of personality. I remember there not being one even after Jedi Knight, it was really due to Jedi Outcast that it came into existence.

My recollection is that Katarn was a controversial character like Starkiller after Jedi Knight, as this guy who received less training than Luke and yet somehow defeated seven Dark Jedi.

    This fandom is so cyclical.

But yeah, I'd say Dark Empire, Dark Forces saga, The Force Unleashed, and the New Jedi Order are some of my favorite series in Legends, so any nods they get in the new canon would be welcomed by me. I wouldn't expect Dark Empire to get much recognition though.
