Rogue One Wedge, Porkins, and the Rebel Fleet / Squadrons

I'd love to see Porkins return to the big screen even just briefly. Maybe we could get a little backstory on the charachter as well.

 

Well he's definitely not one of the main group, this isn't about the X-Wing squadron, but the "spies" who actually steal the plans. If any back-story will be told, it will likely be theirs.
They have five already pictured new characters, plus Tudyk in their group. And Forest Whitaker and Mads Mikkelsen likely as Rebel commanders. Plus Ben Mendelsohn as likely a new Imperial leader. ...that's 9.
All these characters need setup.
So no, there will be no back-story for Porkins, wrong movie! ...But he, and other recognizable X-Wing pilots may get visual "re-cast" nods amongst the background characters.

Our heros stealthily dodging through Stormtrooper gunfire, Porkins far behind jogging and puffing trying to keep up.
"We have to crawl through the air ducts to get to the Command Center."
"Ahh jeez."

Who's going to play Porkins? who could play Porkins?

I just don't see any of the Yavin 4 based squadron being in this other than a cgi'd image of them sitting in their cockpits using footage shot from ANH.

 

OMG...Wash is in it? So good. But where are the Bothans?

 

They are probably chilling in the shadows, gathering intel.

 

It makes no sense that he is with the Rogue One people, because why then would they need Leia if someone else can deliver the plans to Yavin 4?

 

I was more getting Shelley Winters in the Poseidon Adventure.

I didn't really know what the story would be about sorry. I just thought it'd be funny if he made some brief cameo or something, but obviously he might not fit into the storyline unless they showed pilots waiting on Yavin waiting for the plans or something. Maybe in another one of the spinoffs he could pop up?

 

Bothans died in the process of getting the Death Star 2 information.

 

The same guy that plays Samwell Tarley in GOT could play him...

 

That would be interesting, if they brought back Porkins.

maybe he was once in great pilot in peak physical fitness, before he got injured fighting the empire, got addicted to death sticks and gained lots of weight by A New Hope, before finally getting his act together to make one last stand with the rebel pilots against the Death Star.

 

A Porkin cameo would be nice to see.

 

It would probably come off as really forced. If it was a different film specifically about pilots, then he could have some role to play. Maybe in the future...

 

I would rather see Porkins just in the background.

Someone tells "Hey Porkins!"
And a hot shirtless dude with hard abs turns round...

 

They have quite the rainbow of races and genders, but no great big fat people. Petition? (Alan Tudyk is his own gender.)

Don't these guys usually come in threes? There should be one more Porkins brother, and they should all three be chased by this guy across the galaxy.
