This thread is about exactly what it says on the tin. Some have complained about the fact that the new verse features too many new aliens, and too few "classic," OT species. I don't want to resume that debate, but I'm just gonna ask this: which species from the original trilogy (or even from Legends, let's be generous) would you like to see featured (especially on screen) in the future?

My strictly OT list includes (but is not limited to):
    • The Yam'rii/Huk, a.k.a "Praying Mantis" (cause mantises are cool, especially giant ones)
    • The Defels; a.k.a. "Wraith"
    • The Shistavanen, a.k.a. "Wolfman" (already seen in the new books and novels)
    • The Anzati (not just the appearance, but the whole vampiric thing)
    • Yuvernians and Wol Cabas****es (because we definitely need more non-humanoid species)

And they would be canon by now, had TCW continued... :(

The Yuuhzan Vong without a doubt, the Yevetha, the Krayt dragon, the Sith species, the kwa and Rakata. The zeltrons(oh yes!), and of any other legends species that I can't recall at the moment!

The Krayt dragons and the Zeltrons are already canon, although the latter still remains to be pictured in a canon work.

The Sith species... may or may not have been stealthily introduced already. It's ambiguous. Let me explain...
In the junior novel series Adventures in Wild Space, there's a tertiary character called Meggin. As it turns out, this Meggin has red skin and cheek tendrils... I asked the series' illustrator, David M. Buisán, about it, and his answer was: "as far as I'm concerned, it's a funny coincidence! ;)"

    In no particular order:

    The Kwa and Kwi
    Yuuzhan Vong
    Tsurr
    Blood carvers
    Togorians
    Chubbit
    Chistori
    Barabel
    Rakata
And more Nosaurians. They're canon, but we haven't seen any other than Cleig Holdfast.

Ah, yes. I like them too. It's one of my favorite designs from The Holiday Special--along with the Cathar, who looks a little comical but still good enough for me.

No, my serious answer is I don't care about aliens. :p

Unless they're animals. Then they're cute. Bring back peko-peko!

I always really liked the Paaerduags from KOTOR, but since they essentially were ignored in the rest of the EU, I'm not holding my breath for them to show up again in the new EU.

The Paaerduags were one of the funniest things from the KOTOR games. The best part is that they have absoluitely nothing to do with the plot or any of the secondary quests; they're just there to enrich the universe in their weird way.

I was a bit mystified by the extremely avian take on them in The Essential Atlas (which apparently derived from The Essential Chronology.)

With mane, whinnying, a tail that "twitches in the equivalent of a shrug" and a long body that, when turned, blocks a corridor, I always imagined them as pegasus-type (but with prehensile wingtip feathers).

I, myself, pictured them as Hyper Chicken from Futurama. With accent and voice.

It's weird that they use that picture, because there's nothing in that book to identify what species that is, and no other book has had any physical identification for Bothans, so by Wookieepedia's usual standards of pedanticness, that probably shouldn't be there.

Leland announced just earlier today that all species names, at least, are still canon unless explicitly stated otherwise.
