I've got no idea. It could literally be anything. I don't think we know at what point in production Lucas came to visit. If it was early enough they could have retooled things to fit it in. For example, maybe the tank trooper was originally a design for the scarf troopers and after George keyed in on it they made up the tank for it (or maybe the tank was there but it was just going to be a regular trooper). If it was later in production I'd assume its just going to be one of the people in the crowd scenes.

Gareth seems like such a cool guy. So down to earth and he actually seems passionate about what he is doing. Can't wait to see what he has done.

LOL, at this thread, am I going to be the only one posting?

Now that Edwards has commented on the a possible Obi-Wan film,fans are naturally starting to wonder whether he’d be involved with the project. ComicBook.com’s Lucas Siegel has shared his thoughts about whether Edwards would team up with Lucasfilm once more to tackle the ambitious story.
“Could Edwards even come back and direct it? I think so,” Siegel said from San Francisco where he’s currently attending press junkets for Rogue One.
“Literally everyone I talked to this weekend, from the actors to Lucasfilm execs to the mocap team and ILM and even PR simply loved working with him. It's very clear Lucasfilm would be interested in working with Edwards again, and with his unbridled passion for Star Wars there's little doubt that if they made that call he'd pick up the phone.”

I'm so happy he is out talking to everyone.
Way back at Celebration Kathleen Kennedy was doing all the talking. Gareth definitely wasn't being the JJ Abrams salesman.

But he's hugely likeable when he gets going.

Edwards remembers a pivotal meeting early in the development of Rogue One. "We made a big assumption at the very beginning," says Edwards. "And Kathy, I remember in one meeting, turned around and went, 'Well, why are you assuming that? We can do what we want.' It changed the direction of the film. Our film is not your average blockbuster. It takes a few more risks. Kathy was very supportive of that and defended it to everybody."

He may have needed some help near the end of the process (from both Tony and John Gilroy), and that most likely tightened up the film, but I believe it was Edwards' vision that really made this the potential classic that it is. I think he really understands Star Wars on a fundamental level.
