Census Dominant hand.

You people are all way too open and honest about "Which hand you use to get yourself off."

 

Well, I was about to come in here an reply, "As a child, the entire household's dominant hand was my fathers."

So thanks for ruining THAT for me.

Ambidextrous

 

I'm right-handed, but I can do a lot with my left hand. After years of sword-and-shield practice, my left hand is programmed for defensive action. If a fly suddenly buzzes past my head, it's usually my left that automatically swats at it.

 

What I've discovered is that it depends on what I'm doing.

 

I'm left-handed. Not only that, I hold my pen in a fairly odd grip, which means that whenever I'm drawing or writing I have to pause every 2 minutes.

 

I think lefties are people from the mirror universe who accidentally invaded our own.

 

I haven't seen my dad in years, but we were visiting at my sisters before the holidays and he was correcting his 2 yr old granddaughter to use her right hand when eating instead of the left. My sister didn't say anything.
He did the exact same thing with my brother and sisters 30 odd years ago. It's crazy. I'll need to ask him why he doesn't like lefties and made us all righties.

 

That's an old person thing. They're dumb. My wife's grandmother tried that **** on my daughter and I put a stop to it right away.

Left-handed but accidentally clicked on the right-hand option. Like most people it depends somewhat on what I'm doing, though. Writing and eating and other fine-motor things are with the left. but I've always used a mouse right-handed. Incidentally my left leg and eye are also dominant, and my left arm is stronger than my right.

 

Lefty for life.

 

In the process of becoming ambidextrous. Tearing a ligament in my dominant (right) hand = epic fun times (2 surgeries and 6+ months of rehab). Yay me!

I'm told I do some things like a Leftie -- such as how I arrange my workstation and the like. But I don't think it's ambidextrous-ness, I think I'm just a very confused spatially inept Rightie.

 

Depends on how I go about it... variety always makes things interesting.

 

I mainly use my right hand for most tasks, but have discovered that I can do most things with my left hand as if it were more natural.

After reading a few of the posts on here, maybe I should ask my grandmother if I was originally left handed and it was corrected during childhood. I remember reading that those who are left handed are more creative and artistic where as right handed people have a more factual and logic based mind, does anyone know if that is correct?

 

That is something that is often said, but I think the factualness of it is pretty questionable.
