Social In one year...

We get to see Episode VIII. One. Year. Just a public service announcement.

 

As much as I'm hyped for R1 tomorrow, VIII will be the BOMB. Only I year to go? EASY!

 

I've been saying that the thing I'm most excited about with the release of Rogue One is that it'll be time to focus on Episode VIII.

 

Hey, haven't seen you around here much lately. Slacker.

 

I'm actually more excited for Rogue One and The Han movie than I am VIII just because VII isn't my favorite of the saga. (I liked it, but I would probably put it last in my ranking of the movies...) That said, I love Rian Johnson's films so I'm sure once trailers (and spoilers) start flowing, I will get more excited for it.

 

Huzzah! I'm figuring quarterly in 2017 I will watch one Rian Johnson movie every 4 months or so. January - Brick. May - Brothers Bloom August - Looper December - Star Wars Episode VIII.

Only saw Brothers Bloom once. Dunno if I'll work his 3 Breaking Bad episodes in there, Fly, Fifty-One, Ozymandias. Probably yes. Although Breaking Bad is kinda hard to just jump into for a single episode.

 

On Friday the hype train for VIII begins.

 

IIRC, we got the first Rogue One teaser on 7 April 2016, which was about two weeks after the Blu-ray release of TFA.

Can we expect a similar time frame for the first teaser/trailer of Episode 8? Late March, early April? Or will they start cranking up the marketing machine sooner?

 

I think they'll hold off until Celebration in April. No reason for them to not let Rogue One just ride its wave through Blu Ray release (presumably in early April again) and then hit full throttle with VIII starting at Celebration.

I'm not the biggest fan of TFA, but oh boy, just getting a glimpse of the now older Jedi Master was enough to paint a huge smile on my face.

 

Okay, you folks put forward a good point. It will be nice to see Luke take a more active role again. (and hopefully Leia will be more than window dressing...)

I think I will spend a lot more time in this forum in the upcoming yr than the spoiler forum.. I really hope they don't show to much of the movie (Trailer, tv spots etc.) before it releases.. So excited for this film ATM because I don't really know what to expect, hope it stays that way all yr..

We had a countdown to TFA, but I don't know how to make one for Ep8.

I wonder if we might get news about Ep8 sooner rather than later, since its box office earnings have dropped off. I just saw another movie at the AMC in Disney Springs, and they've already taken down the big R1 display inside. The TFA one was still up at this time last year.

 

Well, it's doing excellent box office business, so I wouldn't worry about it. Beside, at this time last year TFA was the first Star Wars movie in 10 years so it was a bigger deal.
