I don't know...I've been a Dune fan forever...and it would be hard for me to get past, "that guy from Lost who plays Duncan."

Every time that story comes up on my feeds I think, "Maybe this time I can read this without crying." And I'm always wrong.

I saw that story, I think Lin-Manuel Miranda retweeted it. Great stuff.

It's a bit of a shame that this is kind of a big deal, but at the same time I am glad it's being made into a very good thing (which it absolutely is) in contrast to the minority but disproportionately highly publicised antics of a few morons who tried to organise a boycott of Rogue One because one lead was female and another was a male who was not white.

If I had one complaint about Rogue One, and it's a minor quibble, I wish we would have gotten at least a glimpse, or a mention of Rae Sloane or seen Imperials of different ethnicities, or even female Imperial officers. They wouldn't necessarily have to be in the Death Star scenes, but they could have been on any of the Star Destroyers during the Battle of Scarif.

I don't think Jello will mind me posting this here from the Rebels thread.

And I'll note that Sabine and Aphra are definitely, definitely Asian in this game's non-cartoon art style.

    So there.

Honestly it's not terribly ambiguous in the art from the media they're native too, either...people are just terrible...

Yeah, I mean I can't understand anyone being confused for even a single second but well. One thing I've learned this year is not to overestimate people. :p

I don't think I've ever met a human being whose eyes slant down that steeply but okay I'll take it.

Anyone read Star Wars #19 regarding Doctor Aphra, btw?

I agree. Once again all the Imperial Officers apparently come from the same city.

In honor of Michael K Williams being cast in Han Solo, this amazing clip.

Part of me hopes Michael K. Williams is playing Lando's like brother or uncle and part of me recoils at the idea.

I felt the same way about Thandie Newton being Mama Calrissian. But now I want her to be an Imp.

Thandie Newton is much too young to be Mama Calrissian. They wouldn't do that.

    I hope.

She has more years on Donald Glover than Winona Ryder had on Zach Quinto playing his mama in Star Trek '09.

I mean, she's 44--we don't know when exactly the movie is set (or how old Lando is for that matter) but Glover could easily play him at around 25, which is in a plausible range to be Newton's child. Anyway, I only wanted that for like three minutes before I had a better idea. [face_dunno]
