1. Binary Sunset (ANH)

A ridiculously moving score - when paired with that iconic shot of Tatooine's twin suns, this becomes truly great cinema.

2. The Duel (ESB)

I love this especially for its alarmingly sinister rendition of the Imperial March, later reused to great effect in ROTS.

3. Hyperspace (ESB)

This is pure heart-pumping thrill. It's simply impossible to tear your eyes from the screen while this track plays during the Falcon's escape at the end of ESB.

4. Ben Kenobi's Death and TIE Fighter Attack (ANH)

The bombastic Rebel Fanfare in all its glory is the centrepiece of this track.

5. Anakin's Betrayal (ROTS)

This heart-wrenching track makes the Order 66 sequence probably my favourite moment in the prequel trilogy.

6. The Final Duel (from The Battle of Endor II (Medley)) (ROTJ)

A fitting piece for the saga's climax, as Luke briefly embraces the Dark Side.

7. Anakin vs. Obi-Wan (ROTS)

One of the best-choreographed duels in the saga is also one of the most emotional largely thanks to this darkly thrilling track.

8. Into the Trap (ROTJ)

The Battle of Endor gets off to a tense start as the Emperor's trap is sprung by the Rebel Fleet.

9. Duel of the Fates

This fantastic score elevates TPM's high-stakes duel to a whole new level.

10. The Fleet Enters Hyperspace

A brilliant foreshadowing of the slaughter that awaits the Rebel fleet as it sets out for its attack on the 'not-yet-operational' Death Star II.


This is just what I came up with off the top of my head, and is probably a little OT-heavy as those are the films I've watched most recently. Not really sure about the order either, and there are heaps of great tracks that I've had to leave out.

Damn, I ran out of edit time.

I forgot to add my favorite ROTJ Force Theme cues: "Faking The Code" ("Shuttle Tydirium..." on the RCA discs), and of course, "The Emperor's Death".

And "Carbon Freeze" contains great statements of Han/Leia's Theme, and The Imperial March. Not to mention a great Force Theme statement near the end of the track which IIRC does not appear in the film.

 

This is tougher than I thought it would be. Pretty sure I know my favorite 10 tracks, but I had to think a bit for favorite themes.

Although I love the main theme/Luke's theme and Leia's theme, somehow they didn't make it (for now). Some of my other favorites are the ROTJ trap theme, Poe's theme, Jyn's theme, and the main RO theme/hope theme that seems to be hit or miss with people.

Its strange cause while i think that Imperial March or SW Main Theme is the most iconic themes of all times, the themes listed below touch me and inspire much more.
