If she's a Kenobi I honesty don't think this is off the table by IX. Less so from her perspective but that he'd grow feelings for her and redeem himself tragically for love. That's obviously creepy if there's any family connections but it's not weird at all if there isn't.

Anyone who watched Jessica Jones on Netflix can see the interesting storytelling possibilities that can occur when a villain has feelings for his enemy. Complications are the heart of storytelling. Especially soap operas in Space.

I'm kinda surprised it's relegated to here as an idea. It doesn't seem thaattt outlandish if they aren't related. It would have to be setup in VIII though to work. I don't think it will happen but I'm prepared for anything from here on out and if they wrote this well I think it could compel. Also of note is that Colin Trevormore as worked romance pretty successfully into his movies Safety Not Guaranteed and Jurassic World. Is he finishing it up for that reason?

 

I'm not really a Reylo shipper, because right now I'm pretty sure that they're probably cousins. Also because I'd kind of like to see Rey with Finn or Poe Daemeron. But if it turns out that Kylo (aka Ben) and Rey are not related, I wouldn't object to seeing them in a relationship.

 

If it was to happen, as a result of them not being relatives, I would bet it would end up being more Kylo Ren falling for her more than she does him with him later trying to show her he's capable of reform and redemption and her pretending to be open to it all to save her friends but then waiting for the right moment to putt her saber through his heart just as he's finding his first real happiness since childhood.

"Rey... Someday... years from now... you'll see my parents again.

You know where just as well as you do that I'm not going to end up there. Please... when you see them... Tell them it wasn't their fault. I don't want them to feel pain any longer. Please. Tell them that. I never deserved them, or Uncle Luke or especially you. They would have liked you..."

It's going to be so funny of Ren and Rey are related -- another Luke and Leia -- at least for Reylo supporters
