If Anakin gets another series sometime in the future, instead of another about his Vader self, why not one set soon after AoTC? Get to explore more of the prequel era pre-TCW.. See his early interaction with his new wife, constructing his 2nd blade, first battle in the clone wars. Could lead to a nu canon version of his knighthood and first encounter with Ventress. Also a way to introduce new characters (such as a new jedi duo) to this period which could be added to later. There are other ideas that could get evolved into a comic series pre-TCW. A mini about Mace Windu or the Origins of Grievous, etc.

Another scenario could be seeing Anakins early days as a Jedi in training, set pre "Anakin and Obiwan" comic. Where the ending of TPM is fresher in his mind.

Anyone else want to see more of Anakin before the fall?

Only one problem - Clone Wars pretty much does that with Anakin and is deemed nu canon.

Still, I eventually want to see more of pre-Ahsoka Anakin, where he is not at the same level of training/experience that his later TCW self reached.

Hmm, how much chronological room is there for that?

Hold on, I just need to light the Sinny Signal....

Ahhhh if there was ever a time and a place for suggesting Palpatine secretly killed Padme, this would be it.

I'm really excited for this series, amongst many other great things it could do, hopefully it will expand on the logistics surrounding the current canon's Republic/Empire transition. For instance, how long does it take for the Phase 3 Clone Trooper's to move to Stormtrooper armor and such. I know by "Lords of the Sith" they are already wearing it which is a few years into the Empire.

Wow, Vader is like a beast that lost control in the artwork. Powerful stuff.

So Vader attacks Sheev straight after the whole "noooooo!" thing. Makes sense that he needs to be forcibly told that he's a shadow of his former power compared to legends where he just got up from the table and instantly realised that he'd have to faithfully serve palpatine forever.

Huh? He's not a shadow of his former power in nu-canon.

HeatherAntos@Jordan D. WhiteGiven Doug Wheatley's heavy involvment in Legends comics set during the same era this comic is set, I'd like to vouch for at least a cover for this series by him. Thanks Marvel!

The stormtrooper armor is already in use by the time of the Adventures in Wild Space series, and this happens when Ezra is a baby (so circa 18 BBY).

Yes, and whenever Luminara is apprehended by the Empire in Rebels it shows her being escorted by ordinary stormtroopers.

I'm a little worried after that ink preview, that is clearly a completely different version of what happened in the same scene in ROTS. He didn't get down on his knees (only staggered forwards) and he certainly didn't sent Palpatine flying backwards and there are no alternate angles or missed seconds where they could add this into if it really is continuing after he breaks free from the table. I was excited when they said it would continue one second on from the scene where he is viewing the Death Star construction, but now I am unsure.

I'm all up for ret-conning certain plot elements (etc, death star reactor flaw by design) however you can't change actual film scenes and still retain canon.

Darryl Cooper - you are forgetting the adaptation rules of canonicity. Anything that is depicted on screen such as this that is then adapted, whether it be comic, novel etc. the movie version of events takes precedent.

the depiction of Sidious being thrust backwards is itself not canon anyway, but an "artistic impression" and licence that all adaptations are allowed. Same with extended lines of dialog seen the movie novelisations. not canon as the film takes precedent. so no retcon here!

It wouldn't be unprecedented to start a book with a shocking dream sequence of sorts that takes a familiar scene and then goes elsewhere with it before smash-cutting to the 'present day'. Vader fantasizing about killing (or having killed) Sidious, I mean, is something you know has to happen on a regular basis.

Why would you want that when the film pretty clearly indicates that Vader killed her?

So, anyone want to take bets on which Jedi we could see Vader Kill in this series? I'm expecting some new, but probably at least one or two old ones as well. At this point the list of Jedi who appear in the films that have a name, face, and don't have a set death is rather short so I'm thinking we might get some Legends Jedi to come forward and play the "Hero Antagonist" to Vader for a few issues.[face_thinking]

As much as I love Purge (and consider it as a part of my head canon), if I were asked to retcon a Legends story it would be Last Stand of the Jedi only to have more Bultar Swan. I'd prefer she last for a while after Order 66.

More than anything I hope they limit the number of Jedi who survived order 66. Of course we will have Vader hunt down the survivors, it can't not happen. But the current list of survivors is beginning to rival the list of victims which I find to be ridiculous. I hope they have a flashback showing other Jedi fall, perhaps as an expanded backstory to whomever the primary Jedi foe(s) of Vader in this series are. That way we can grow both lists at once without adding on to the feeling that order 66 wasn't as effective as it ought to have been. But that's just me.

Edit: Went to Wookieepedia and counted. 15 survivors to 13 victims as of now. Like I said, they need to add to the list of victims before adding any more survivors. Wasn't fond of how many Jedi lived through it in legends either, but at least the list of victims was so massive those that lived actually felt irrelevant.

I'm mildly looking forward to this.

Less so the challenge of incorporating it into One Canon (have you seen how monstrously busy the gap from 19 to 17 BBY is, really?), but definitely the foundation of the Inquisitors!

I wonder what happened to Oppo Rancisis. He is missing in ROTS which implies he is dead, which he was in Legends thanks to Sorra, however Depa in Legends and canon survived her differences from the ROTS council so hey maybe Oppo is out there. If he is though, I would kinda hope he lives longer and is like deep in hiding or got lost prior to ROTS and is found in the ST era. But that's just me.

Oh, I've forgotten about Oppo in canon, good idea. As for a survivor until the ST, it has to be K'Kruhk
