To answer your question, Seagoat.

Yeah, Britain has a different system than most other countries, I think. Most teachers at a British university are called lecturers and typically have Masters degrees. I believe to be called a professor in Britain that person must have a PhD and also accomplished something of note in the field.

In the US, most people teaching at a university have a PhD, so the appropriate title for them is Dr. So&So or Prof. So&So. If the person only has a Master's or practical experience that allows him to teach on the university level, then that person has the title Professor or Mr./Ms. It is considered impolite and a slight insult to use Mr./Ms. to refer to someone with a PhD.

Technically, there are no teachers in colleges or universities in the US. That's the job of someone who works in grade school (kindergarten through 12th grade).

 

The internet connection is nonexistent. And when it does connect it doesn't even work. And 90% of what I have to do for classes is online. This is so frustrating. I can only use my phone for so much.

I hope everyone else is having a better time.
