    Great! Darth Osnil
    Evil :emperor: , Neutral :boba: , Good :yoda: , or Getting There :kylo: --you may join by creating your very own Character or by choosing to be almost anyone among the Game/Story Characters;

Game/Story Characters already have pasts and alliegances,

while newly made Main (and Secondary) Characters may begin as either:
    - New companions of The Vanyan Thanein (preferred and most recommended, as whatever path you choose can always be taken afterward)
    - Brand new characters anywhere, and I mean anywhere, in Sudgaard/Vaniya

Your motivations, your past and your aims, are entirely of your fashion, good Darth :anakin: ~ :vader: I place nearly no limits on the number of Characters you may embody, much less on Creativity--Create away, fellow adventurer

You are most Welcome to do so and hopefully join us A Blind Prophet :)

Having attempted to study the reference, I find that while this looks and sounds fun, you could have better explained everything. It took me a few tries to understand it. I also feel as if you could have better explained the 25+ races. You also could have detailed more on the factions themselves. An index for the NPCs would have been useful as well. But you don't HAVE to listen to me. Those are just a couple of suggestions so that the massive information overload doesn't scare RPers away.

Surely Darth Osnil A Blind Prophet all feedback is Greatly, Greatly Appreciated :)

as we play, the extensive Lore and vast World of the Orbeis will be opening itself to you; everything posted is precisely meant as just a reference--your main source for Lore, the Story, and any doubts is me--I'll clear them all via PM, where we'll be addressing your needs specifically :c3po: Now I understand, it's a lot to take in, thus the starting date and the simplified Lore (furthering the material would mean pages upon more pages, adding loads of more info) and of course, all creative work can always be better/improve, that's a given I always go by. Now, the Index is at the Library thread and, well, we can always discuss Co-GM status :kanan::ezra::hera::sabine::zeb:
and that goes without saying that we're introducing an entirely new world of stuff--we all know of Star Wars here lol surely, but trust me, in time, you'll all be experts on Valannoric Lore :yoda:

Feel free to PM me, I'm here for ya [face_cowboy]

Greetings Adventurers, have you heard of the Treasure of Darth Malum? Some say it is a myth, but all myths are based in truth. The bold Captain Falkirk needs beings like you to help him find it. If interested meet at Vagrants' Bar in the Trìewahl Docking Station, talk to Lefty, she'll point you in the right direction. The call has gone out, will you answer? Answer the Call to Adventure?

Hi, Vagabond here, proud GM of Call to Adventure: The Treasure of Darth Malum. It has been on something of a hiatus due to a prolonged battle with Darth Real Life and a plot line that wasn't going anywhere. I have decided to do a hard reset and get the crew back on course. I'm also looking to recruit some new players. If you're interested just send me a sheet. The CS can be found in the OP of the main thread.

If you have any questions, I'll gladly answer them in either a PM or in the Borei OOC thread.

Old crew, HunterPrime AbsolX Shekel_1383 Ktala Darth Ukendt GrimdarkRose, if you're still interested in playing, just post in the thread or in the OOC, no pressure though. This game ran strong for nearly a year, let's see if we can get it going again.

Ok guys, I have an idea for a game that no one will play in but, I so want to make real consider it a Crack! Game.

Here's the Turbolift pitch: Moviemaking in the GFFA, the GM will play the studio, and any positions that aren't filled by players, the players will be the Cast and Crew of a holo currently in Principal Photography (for simplicities sake we will skip over pre- and post- production, unless someone really wants to) The GM will also throw curve balls at the staff, like, the Studio demands re-writes to more closely resemble some recent Holo that did really well, or the Gaffer's Union goes on strike either shutting down production or forcing the producer to hire scabs, or the script leaks and critics are already tearing the holo apart.

And the players themselves would have plenty of opportunity to create conflict. Think about the power mad Director that demands that everything happen as he has envisioned it and will accept nothing less than his 'perfect' vision. The credit pinching producer that forces the staff to work with shortened shooting times, poor locations, or subpar props and other necessary items. And of course the self-centered actor that the Studio required to be in the holo or they wouldn't Green Light it.

It could be a short game Principal Photography generally lasts about 3-4 months maybe longer if unforeseen events happen. It wouldn't focus too much on the acting part more the mechanics of getting a holo made.

It is also a game that doesn't involve Jedi, Sith, Mandalorians, any Force users, or fun sports (like Limmie) whatsoever so it's chances of getting off the ground are slim to none. It also requires that you actually be interested in how a movie gets made, and very few people are. While I love this idea and would love to try and run it, I know the chances of others being interested are low.

I'm also going to come right out and say this, this idea came to me after musing on another game I saw a long...long time back called Lights, Camera, Action. It focused more on the actors than the actual production but, it was one of the most interesting games I've ever seen and I really would like to see more games like it on these boards.

    Thank you for indulging me.

    Actually I love the idea.

Why not set it in the contemporary world? Star Wars fans are not the prime target group anyway, right?

Wow...Lights, Camera, Action. That's a real blast from the past right there!

But I have to agree with LordTroepfchen – very interesting idea, but it almost lends itself better to our current world (although, I wouldn't be against a SW take on it). Overall, though, it really sets itself apart from everything else in the RPF right now, and that's what draws me to it. I love it!

While Star Wars fans are not the target demographic, this is still a Star Wars Forum. Also I like the idea of bringing the mundane or the not often thought about to the GFFA. We know holovids are like movies, Garik "Face" Loran and Wynssa Starflare (Syal Antilles) were both actors, so I'd really like to do something we know happens in the Star Wars universe but, isn't talked about in anything. It's just like Trieste could have made Elite League Limmie contemporary but, chose not to, setting in the universe we all came here for.

Like I said it's a Crack! idea, maybe I'm the power mad director but, I'd really like to see if I could keep it set in the GFFA.

Like I said, I have no issues if you decide to keep it in the SW universe. That presents a unique experience all of its own. I'd be down for that.

Plus, it may offer me the opportunity to bring back a certain character. ;)

Since I got TAGed, I'll throw in this thought: such a game would need a clear vision from the GM (much like the director of a film!) to keep on track, especially because it's not a standard style of game that we see around here. It's got some potential though, even though it wouldn't be a game for me. :)

To all those in Limmie. Thanks. I still can't get the idea of launching a Light Ball game out of my head thanks to all of you.

For those wanting to know, that's the agreed upon Star Wars equivalent of Baseball and would be done in a similar mechanic to the Elite League Limmie RPG. :)

As much as I'm interested, I can barely keep up with ELL as it is, which is a big reason I haven't tried to take on another RPG since the big move five years ago. So I won't be able to play, but you'll certainly have a spectator if it gets going. :)

I think a lot of us in the Limmie game are pretty busy with RL. That being said, you never know who else might be interested. After all, Limmie was a rather small game for the first couple of seasons; it didn't really take off for roughly two years. Then it grew from there. So it could be worth a shot making an OP and posting it, and seeing if there is interest there.

Following our discussion last week about Star Wars setting or not, I became inspired and actually wrote up a short OP for a game set in the real world codenamed "The Crossing" for now. I remember games in the real world did quite well around here once and I just wanna see if this works out. It is a supernatural action and mystery story and I will probably have a rough OP up here tonight for feedback.

Why am I writing this? I don't know. Just felt like I have to tell you guys, haha!

Send from my iPhone so without the fancy looks, but please find below my idea of The Crossing for your consideration.

    The Crossing

    Intro:

The meeting did not take place in the Pentagon or Langley. Officially there was no meeting at all. They had come together in the backroom of the Club to talk. None of them would ever admit they had been present.

"It is true. Every word he send turned out to be true." The skinny man with the glasses looked at the men assembled in the room and sighed. Then he leaned back and picked his glasses from his nose with a certainty of a man who had done this a million times. It was dark in the room, almost too dark to make out any features. But Mr. Jared did not need to. He knew everyone was troubled. The tension was filling the air. The meaning of his words sank in as the dozen men assembled in the room tried to understand the meaning of what he had just said.

"The President needs to know with absolute certainty that the danger is real before he ..." The bulky man in the uniform leaned forward and Jared did not allow him to end the predictable and meaningless objection. The General was not used to be interrupted, but Mr. Jared did not care about courtesy right now.

"Five predictions. Three came true. Number Five ... well if number five comes to pass we ..." Jared cleared his throat. "How long can we afford to wait?" He was fighting not to jump up. The room reacted with another very predictable reaction. Complete silence. Did they all not understand the implications of what he had just revealed? Or where they too much politicians to handle something like this?

The silence seemed to last for eternity, until the most unlikely of the assembled raised his voice. Mr. Simmons. The man in his late thirties was younger than the others and Mr. Jared actually did not know what was his position or who he exactly was working for. His vibe was Simmons was not a politician. Not at all.

"I guess it is simple." Simmons took a deep breath and then leaned forward. "Things are happening. We know they are happening. We do not want them to happen. We know what to do to keep them from happening. So we need to do it. We need to kill those five people." He leaned back again. "As soon as possible."

Jared hated how logical this sounded. He also hated how logic was not the problem. "That these five are completely innocent people does not bother you, Mr. Simmons?"

    "No."

"We have collected extensive intelligence saying that they pose no threat whatsoever."

"We know that is not true. They are a mayor threat, we just do not know why. So what is your concern? Killing innocents?" Simmons snapped forward now, revealing the piercing blue eyes. "In every war we have fought, every operation we agreed upon innocents died. Hundreds of them. Thousands. And for what? Oil? Politics? Principles? Retribution? These five people are no different. Collateral damage, regrettable victims of unfair circumstances. Only this time we know why they need to die."
Simmons leaned back again. "To save the world."

And now that he had said it, silence suddenly felt like approval. These five innocents would be killed.

    --------

    Welcome to The Crossing.

This game is based on no franchise or film. It is an original game idea set in a world that is more or less our own contemporary world. So what to expect?

I actually don't wanna spoil too much, but the game will be an action game with a supernatural/sci fi element. There are two groups available for playing. The Hunters and the Hunted.

    Hunters

The US Government has assembled a team of specialists to locate and eliminate a group of five people all over the world. They don't give you the reasons, but they give you the means. The operation is lead by a certain Mr. Simmons.

Every member of the Hunters must be a specialist in either finding or killing people. Agents, spies, assassins, hackers, investigators or soldiers all fit into this category. But whoever you are, "they" consider you a 100% loyal person. But loyalty has many forms and sometimes loyalty is not be born out of free will and dedication.

How loyal you will stay and if you will start wondering about the nature of your mission I leave totally up to you.

    The Hunted

The Hunted do not know they are actually on a kill list. They are ordinary people, living ordinary lives all over the globe. Any nationality and job is okay for this. They do not know each other and are completely unaware of the importance they suddenly have for the US Government.

The Hunted are limited to 5, as the list is not that long.

The Hunt will be the main plotline of the game, pitting players against each other at times. Player vs. Player actions will be decided by an invisible dice roll modified by the abilities of the character. This will be done by the GM in the background and you will be reading the results only in form of the update. But to give any character a chance this seems better than a cold and clear GM decision.

IMPORTANT: This game is about story and not about winning. Obviously this hunt is a bit unusual and I think I spoil not too much, if I reveal that the reason for the murder of the Hunted will be an important question throughout the game.

Considering everyone can read the thoughts and actions of his direct counter-parts I ask for realism. Do not Godmode by using the informations you receive from posts of other players.
