Comics Lost Stars manga

Apparently, Japan will get a webcomic adaptation of Claudia Gray's acclaimed YA novel Lost Stars. From what I gathered by running that page through Google Translate, it will be drawn by Komiyama Yuusaku, and will be published online chapter by chapter every Thursday from May 4, 2017. It's a LINE webtoon, like that Korean retelling of the OT from 2015.

As of today, I don't know. Note that the OT retelling was translated in English eventually, so maybe this one will be as well.

Yeah it's... not my preferred art style. But it's better than nothing.

And yes, it definitely shows there's interest in this kind of thing in Japan and that's really cool.

I dunno, if ever there was a perfect art style for a fancy-pants Imperial ball in a college love story (at that point in time), Manga would fit the bill pretty nicely.

I do not agree in the slightest. I'd suggest 18th century rococo or 19th century romantic.

Eh Konichiwa. Lost Stars had that put-you-in-the-story type of plot though I'm shocked Disney let Cienna say how good the sex with Thane was in the book

Star Wars manga always looks weird to me, which is in itself weird because star wars is one of the most manga things ever.

Thinking about it now, Lost Stars really fits the highly theatrical nature of some Manga. Both our heroes are hot-blooded In their own ways, their emotions are big enough that just drawing facial expressions will properly communicate whole paragraphs of text, and the entire dual protagonist situation allows for broad comparisons of the Empire and The Rebellion to be made throughout using the art. Lost Stars is a very operatic story (especially as a romance), and Manga comics tend to be *very* operatic in comparison to most traditional Western comic art.

And gosh darn it, I WANT THIS! Heck, I could probably add it to my classroom library and get more kids to pick it up just because it's a manga!
