moving on to a new topic... anyone wonder about the gloved hand that runs over the ancient Jedi tome in the trailer? at first, i just assumed it to be Luke's, but i haven't noticed a gloved hand on him yet (not that it's not likely that he will cover it back up during the movie). But, I was wondering if it was perhaps Kylo, upon reaching the island, and finding the materials, before, perhaps, torching them...

That's my feeling at present, yes. But I'm 100% guessing.

I think that he/we have to champion MSW because there are people that don't give credit where credit is due.

Also...."no kidding file" for a new characters name...that is just crazy...do you think he made the name Rose up and just got lucky..I don't get it.

Can't edit for some stupid reason... but I see now that you said 3 and 7, not 3 through 7. My apologies.

What exactly is credit due for though? I mean, acknowledging someone knew something beforehand and before anyone else, I get.

But for doing what should they receive our... championship?

Credit for stopping us from thinking something else?

Credit for spoiling the experience of watching the movie for the first time?

For me, it's not about championing them. It's about fairly assessing their accuracy ratio and acknowledging that whatever one's personal feelings are towards them or the rumours they pass on.

People can choose not to read MSW or the forums if they don't want to have advance knowledge.

Quite right. So I guess the credit is only due from people who do want to spoil the experience of seeing a movie the first time. ;)

That's my point exactly; to point out their 'wins' is fair, but IMO, one also has to remember that without that shooting schedule, they were iffy last time. We have GOT to keep that in mind, and I don't think some people are. I am just attempting to remind people of that, and no criticism is intended. Just remember the history when reading this stuff. I thin most get that, but not all.

    So -

The Resistance flee the base from TFA, Leia is injured/dies and Laura Dern takes over. This probably happens right after the title crawl?

Finn goes to the Salt planet base (and meets Rose?).

    Rey trains with Luke.

Snoke attacks the salt planet and it ends with a Resistance retreat.

Poe conflicts with Dern's character and kicks her out.

Finn and Rose go to the Casino planet for whatever reason.

Del Toro's casino planet character may be of questionably loyalty, maybe he'll betray Finn and Rose to the First Order only to break them out of a prison later or something.

Kylo and some guards show up on Luke's planet and fight with them.

That seems like the basic gist of the movie from what I've read.

Yes, but - without the shooting schedule - is kind of a key issue. They had the shooting schedule, which is one reason why their record was so good. And what the first teaser did was highlight that they clearly have accurate sources this time out as well. As opposed to say, Mike Zeroh who has the most ridiculous batting average. I mean, a couple of Redditors aside, no one else is coming up with anything on TFA.

I don't have any inside info, but I will be surprised if the first scene after the crawl isn't the Luke/Rey conversation.

Early MSW reports said she would be injured and put into a coma, I assume they're changing that in post production to make it death.

My post is just an attempt to put MSW reports of scenes in the order they play in the movie.

They could change it up but traditionally every Star Wars movie starts with space ship shenanigans, the stuff with Rey isn't really open to that.

They have said they aren't altering the story of TLJ in light of Carrie Fisher's death. If Leia didn't die before, she's not dying now.

They could always start out in space and drop down to the planet surface instead of having a ship go by or what have you.

Rian Johnson claimed Fisher had script input and kinda sorta was a script doctor on TLJ at the Celebration panel.

Bob Iger claimed that Leia's role wasn't being altered in the aftermath of her death in TLJ and that she appears throughout the movie.

Kathleen Kennedy claimed at Celebration that "Carrie is remarkable in the movie. What Rian wrote and the performance she ends up giving is an amazing tribute to her talent.”

Carrie Fisher said during last summer after TLJ principal filming wrapped that “[My favorite Star Wars movie] to act in – Empire, although I really liked acting in the last one… ” at Wizard World Comic Con.

FWIW Adam Driver: “We finished the second one [Star Wars: Episode VIII] last summer.” “I think that was the last time I saw [Carrie Fisher], actually, was on set being Princess Leia.

Making Star Wars backpedaled a bit on a recent podcast that they have no evidence now (unlike before) that Leia is injured and comatose.

I totally disagree. I think they are not going to have Leia die at all now given how Carrie is no longer with us. I think they will do what Lionsgate did when Phillip Seymour Hoffman died between Mockingjay Part 1 & 2. Have his character still alive but not in the movie. I could easily envision how in Episode IX, Leia is at a "undisclosed location" due to safety and is leading the Resistance from that spot.

To me there is something morbid about giving Leia on screen death even we don't technically see it. I think Leia should live through Episode IX and have her character pass away between IX and X.

Please see the above; Leia doesn't die in TLJ. She was never going to, and she isn't now that Carrie Fisher has passed. That's basically confirmed, along with her NOT appearing in IX. But clearly, she was going to, so expect that IX will have some kind of off-screen death or mention of what she is doing, not TLJ. Based on what we have been told, TLJ is going to go on as though nothing happened to Carrie.

kylo and the knights of ren battle vs rey and luke happens in the first part of the movie, midway at the latest. Same thing for Canto Bight. For the rest i think it's quite difficult to speculate about the timeline. Finn and Rose infiltration seems to happen towards the second half of the movie..(and some of your plot points are pure speculation)

I have to admit I'd prefer they leave. We know the Falcon does... are they on it? But what if they stay and it's GOOD? I think it's huge mistake to commit to a position on a story point without even seeing it. Context and execution really matter. And I think Rian Johnson is interested in telling a really good story here.
