It makes me appreciate our system so much more, because they're literally the posterchildren for bad public policy. And then they look at strikes and go "so backwards", chuckling to themselves with the assumed superiority of a nation whose citizens rarely visit other nations.

(Of course, they don't chuckle too hard, lest they hurt themselves and are up US$7.6m for a briefly trip to the hospital.)

Strikes and civil disobedience I completely agree with. But rioting is more often than not counterproductive. Plus, outside of the most developed nations where the social safety net is strong, when you torch random cars in a working class neighbourhood to convey your grievances, you're destroying the livelihood of the very people you're ostensibly mad on behalf of. Who is helped by that?
