Since the subject of NCIS crossovers has been raised:

Someone (and likely more than just one someone) has probably already written this one--a NCIS/Criminal Minds crossover in which Abby and Garcia meet. Or already know each other, and are friends. They might also be involved in solving a crime by joining their mighty powers together.

I don't remember ever writing one; I do think they are hard to do well. For me, it comes down to characterization. If you make sure to keep the various characters true to themselves and following their essential motivations, then the rest can work pretty well. The best crossover I ever read was fairly short, a Bones/Batman crossover, with the team of the Jeffersonian sitting over dinner and speculating on Batman's true identity. Every single character was absolutely on point, and it was brilliant; I would never have thought it would work.

There is an EPIC Narnia/SW crossover over on fanfiction.net that I love to read. It's set in the Legends verse where Han, Leia and the kids reside on Yavin IV and they go exploring and go to Narnia.

I've also seen an NCIS Crossover with Rizzoli and Isles which explains that Maura Isles resembles Agent Kate Todd because she is Kate. That was one of the more interesting ones I'd ever seen.

NCIS and Criminal Minds are good sources for inspiration as there is enough material (eg. seasons on dvd) for the writer to really get to know the characters, and thus have a good idea how to portray them and know how they will react in the environment and situation that you are presenting.

One of my recent shorts, responding to an NSWFF prompt, I went with the conceit that Criminal Minds' Kevin Lynch (Nicholas Brendon), really was Xander Harris from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but with a different name, new job. I then put him in a situation where the girl he had pined after at school in Sunnydale, Buffy; and his current girlfriend at the BAU, Penelope Garcia; encountered each other.

I did not have the last season of Buffy to hand, so I was half-way through the story when I discovered that my Xander had not only re-invented himself, but he'd grown an eye back as well!

Kate Todd is a staple in my BSPAWSID team, and its precursor DANL (Dead Agents, New Lives), so I have used her several times. Umbrella Corporation facility; providing succor to the 12th Doctor, etc. I don't know if I am capturing her essence that well, but my occasional reviewers seem to appreciate her presence.

I don't think I have done a proper NCIS crossover yet.

I've got Kate featured in a few of my fics. Heck one of my more recent fanfiction creations ultimately has her being friends with Ziva...

Given all the freaky things that happen in the Buffy-verse, I wouldn't worry about it. Probably a spell or a curse. :D

    That sounds cool.

I've got her working opposite an OC of mine in one of my fanfics who served in the French Foreign Legion. She's in an X-men: Evolution/G.I. Joe crossover I write.

Speaking of NCIS, at times I have toyed with the idea of having Ziva as a Vong or the daughter of Nem Yin and Jacen Solo and Nell being either Luke and Mara's daughter or the daughter of Kenobi and Satine and the padawan learner of Jedi Master Hetty Lange.

Nehru_Amidala - Ziva as a Vong is a really great idea! I think she fits the type really well and I could totally see it. I've watched very little of NCIS:LA, but from what I know of Hetty, I think she'd make a great Jedi.

Now I'm thinking about NCIS characters and how they could fit into Star Wars. I think McGee would make a great slicer (too on the nose?), I could see in a strange way, Abby being a Jedi, and Ducky for sure. Gibbs would be Corellian, I think, maybe a member of CorSec. I have no clue about Tony. He's my favorite and I'm drawing a blank, other than also CorSec.

DiNozzo could also work well for Coruscant security.

And I think Kate Todd would be a great bodyguard for any given dignitary of the Star Wars universe.

Abby could be from the Lost Tribe of the Sith on Kesh circa 40 ABY
fun loving and not really evil. in Goth uniforms.

I can see Ziva with an amphistaff, but feel uncomfortable subjecting her to all that ritualistic self-mutilation.

Yep, Kate is perfect for a diplomatic escort role.

I can agree with you there, which is why I would write her as half-Vong, half human.

can vongs be shaped into humans?

I don't think that would help. With the Vong's strong caste-based society, I think she would have to cut herself extra hard, just to be accepted. Or is she going to be raised by non-Vong?

Ziva would make one formidable Jedi too. Heck, so would Gibbs.

Or a Gibbs as Master and DiNozzo as Padawan. One of the only times we'd ever witness a Master whacking a Padawan with the flat of his hand in the back of the head.

The Palpatine Arrest would have gone considerably better if Gibbs was involved in some way.

I am not really into cross-overs very much, though I am open to some the idea of some, haven't read one I really like though
but I think an Empire verses the borg, could be interesting or the Executor is taken out of it's galaxy
by a care taker species(like in voyager) into the delta quadrant.

Can you imagine Neelix on the Executor as "morale officer"?:)

While Voyager is being discussed, Tom Paris as an X-Wing pilot?

And for Deep Space Nine, Benjamin Sisko flying the Millenium Falcon?

Actually, I can totally see Tom Paris as an X-wing pilot.

Sisko flying the Millennium Falcon? Maybe not so much.
