The Mercs are fantastic. I've been to some of the events the local clan shows up to, and they're great folks.

If Shakespeare was in Star Wars, I can imagine the following exchange between Bardan Jusik and Kal Skirata:

Bardan Jusik: Hamlet Act 3, Scene 1
Kal Skirata: You have not experienced Shakespeare until you have read him in the original Mandalorian.

    (inspired by Star Trek VI)

    :p

LOL. Thanks! Not sure why I didn't think of that before..I forget how inclusive our forums are.. I'll hop over there and share it with those cats too. Vor'e! TheSilentInfluence :)

I went to my first armor party two weeks ago, it was a combined effort between the 501st and the Mercs. Everyone was extremely helpful and kind. I even got some free gear form one builder who had extra loot. The experience was glorious.

LoL :) Makes me wonder who would win in a fight, a group of Mandalorians or Klingons.

    P.S. I say Mando's

What was the first Mandalorian comic or book you all read?

Setting aside works that were purely focused on Boba Fett, I think it would have to be Tales of the Jedi. Part of me wants to say it was the Marvel comics, but I'm pretty sure it was actually Tales. Which were interesting, in both the general sense of the story and era, as well as being an introduction to this new faction of fanatical warriors that can battle fallen-Jedi-turned-Sith-Lords. But, given the mostly two-dimensional portrayal of the ultra-radical Crusaders, the comics didn't really endear me to the people. That would only really come later, with Open Seasons and the Republic Commando series.

If you've ever wondered what it would be like to take a personally guided tour of Mandalore, Lit's Galactic Travel Guide would now like to give you that chance.

Enter the Star Wars galaxy, and embark on a journey from Coruscant to the Outer Rim, as you take on the role of a tourist traveling to the planet Mandalore for the first time. Spend a few days on the Mandalorian homeworld, seeing the sights, sampling the food, and experiencing the day-to-day life of its citizens in cities like Keldabe, Sundari, and smalltown Enceri, with a knowledgeable local guide—and skilled bodyguard—at your side along the way.

Strictly speaking? I would say the Republic Commando novels; the first taste of Mandalorian culture? Legacy of the Force: Bloodlines.

The first I ever read was a comic book in a store that I didn't buy. . .and I cannot remember the name of it but it had a duel between an old time Jedi and a Mando I believe. . .I liked it.

First book would have to be the Republic Commando series, that really cemented a lot about Mandalorians for me. The fact they had their own SW equivalent english language were you borrow or steal words from those you conquer if you don't already have a word for it mentality just seemed like an awesome way to fill in the gaps.

They are my favorite as well.

As an aside, working up a response for the RPG, should be ready to go by early next week. I know it's hasn't been updated as often as I'd like, but this has been a crazier/busier summer than most. The game is still moving along though and updates should be more regular once school starts back up for my kiddies in late August. Until then, we can just do what we can do, but thanks to those playing for your patience.
