Lit Ciena Ree and Luke Skywalker

I guess some people are very against Luke And Aphra for various reasons.
If We can't have Luphra, what about Ciena Ree and Luke Skywalker?

I think now they are about the same age?

They are but I think it'd be awkward given Luke personally killed at least one of her friends.

As for why these thread. I don't know, it's just there's such a long time before episode 8 comes to theaters and there are so many variables that people can hope for?

 

What are the odds we go through all this speculating on Luke's CANON love and the writers decide to make him gay. (Leia in ANH was just him lying to himself)

 

He's either straight or bi since he had another female love interest in Heir to the Jedi.

 

I haven't read Heir to the Jedi but I have been told that she's dead.

Again, Luke doesn't have to end up with anyone, and it fits thematically better for him not too. A lot of Legends authors thought so as well.

Yeah considering the whole reason Ciena exists in canon is because she was part of a Romeo and Juliet type of story if she somehow ended up with Luke it would render her entire story arc pointless.

I think, if anything, Del Rey/Marvel are biding their time until they learn more from the next couple of films. So for them it's probably all up in the air. Except for Cienna. Most probably she's the lost star that never was for Luke.

I mean, yes, Star Wars but the book works because it's a tragedy.

Mind you, I do want a sequel because it's a great story.

What year is this? I thought the "Who Should Luke Marry" online discussions ended in the 1990s.

 

It also seems like he doesn't end up with anyone by the time he goes to Sad Island, so any potential love interest would presumably get Mara'd sometime before The Force Awakens. It wouldn't be a burgeoning will-they-won't-they like Legends if we already know the end result.

No. A big NO. Thane and Ciena are meant to be together. No way does Luke get to interfere with that.

 

I don't know if they are meant to be together as that closing line at the end 'They mirrored eachother. Almost touching but forever apart' would lose its meaning if they found a way to live happily ever after somehow.

But I do think if they don't end up together they will spend the rest of their days pining for one another.

 

I really hope Luke's love life ends up being a series of (fantastic) one-night stands with every named female character we've encountered.

Maybe one of the Legends of Luke Skywalker stories we'll be getting will be about him and a lady named Aphra hooking up on GFFA's version of plenty of fish.

 

why not just have Luke hook up with every character, male or female?
