PT Where was Dooku?

Where was Count Dooku during the events of The Phantom Menace? This is a question that has been on my mind for quite some time now. Was he even a part of the Confederacy of Independent Systems at the time of TPM? It wouldn't have made sense if he was Darth Sidious' apprentice at the time seeing that Darth Maul was his apprentice and there is the rule of two.

The Confederacy of Independent Systems didn't exist in TPM.

I believe Dooku was in league with Sidious tho around TPM timeline or at least had ties by then.

9:25 am - Meeting with Master Sifo-Dyas -- Formally requests Jedi and Senate purchase an army because of visions he's had through the force foreseeing an upcoming galactic war.

10:00 am - Meeting with Master Dooku -- Dooku resigns from the Jedi Order sighting a need to spend time with his family.

11:15 am - Unscheduled meeting with Qui-Gon Jinn -- Jinn reports evidence the Sith have returned and he has found the chosen one.

12:30 pm - Lunch - Taco Tuesday

1:45 pm - Meeting with Master Tuner Metro-Gnomo - Approval of final design for new robes for the Jedi Chorus to debut at this year's Life Day concert on the Senate steps.

2:30 pm - Meeting with Task Hergnat - pushed back from 11:15 am -- Review of crop crisis in the Pataro Nebula

3:15 pm - Meeting with Master Cash Chinga - Review of budget for outer rim Jedi Temples and Monasteries for the next fiscal year. Approved - pending final report from Master Ki-Adi-Mundi.

5:15 pm - Break for Dinner and private time

6:30 pm - Council Discussion on implications of Chosen One and Return of the Sith.

7:15 pm - Test to see if Anakin Skywalker is The Chosen One and should be trained as a Jedi. Answer is NO.

8:30 pm - Meeting with Qui-Gon Jinn about Anakin and mystery of the Sith on Naboo.

9:10 pm - Report from Master Ki-Adi-Mundi - pushed back form 2:30 PM - Report on continuing search for new Ice Cream Vendor for Jedi Temple cafeterias- Samples Provided. Further study is needed before final decision is made.

 

Not quite. Canonically, according to TCW, Count Dooku was already a servant of Sidious at the time of TPM, though not yet his apprentice. But Darth Plagueis, unless I'm mistaken, establishes that Sidious did not recruit Dooku until some time after Maul was defeated. This is because Darth Plagueis came out prior to the Sifo-Dyas arc in TCW which established just how early in the game Dooku joined Sidious.

 

Or watch TCW, either or. SW (kind of like comic book heroes) has too many conflicting storylines to know all of them. Find the one you like the most and that's that.

 

I don't even know if Lucas had Dooku's character in mind before writing Chapter II.

 

He was a Jedi who would soon abandon the order

 

He was busy waiting for George to create him.

 

He left the order soon after TPM.

 

Or waiting for George to decide it was always his intention for Dooku to be a main villain from the start but also his intention to not invent him till after the start.
