Also, you are correct that I don't see why they had to force the characters to espouse such a radical position as veganism when there were many superior options like vegetarianism.

 

phillip was thrust into a body that was addicted to heroin and incapable of doing his job while going through crippling withdrawals, so it was a necessary evil.

in their future i'm pretty sure there were no animals left so veganism wasn't exactly a choice.

 

You raise a good point. I am sure someone like Single Mom would have been a vegetarian if she had the opportunity. But I don't think it was all unrealistic that she was socially isolated. That is in fact a very common strategy pursued by domestic abusers, and it speaks to Single Mom's wisdom and heroism that she was able to persevere in spite of it. You should be praising her, not criticizing the show.

Phillip, on the other hand, might have tried methadone. Like most other functional former opiate addicts. Instead he decided to become Drug Guy.

 

I was under the impression it was not only that but resource scarcity and ethical reasons. If it were simply that they had no choice, Police Guy would not be requesting vegan meals and travelers wouldn't be crying when they realize what bacon is (I guess the Director keeps them very sheltered ).

yeah there's a lot of stuffs to watch. it's a pretty short first season tho, goes quick.

 

The Expanse is a bunch of libertarians in space. Travelers has Single Mom.

 

It has a lot of sex and violence and drug using and lying. I would not recommend watching it to any decent person.

 

What? It has Space Dennis "Cutty" Wise and Space Llane Pryce, Wocky, playing anti-colonial revolutionaries. It has Adam Jensen, and Space Punisher as a rentacop. Plus lots of Space Mormons being silly.

You shame yourself by trying to shame The Expanse.

Also, there are quite a few single mothers in OITNB, Wocky.

 

Also acceptable is Space King George VI.

 

I'm going to take a punt here and suggest Wocky didn't watch the Crown, probably because it didn't feature the Obamas.

The prison show. I had some thought it could be important or realistic. Instead it just turned out to be filled with sex and violence using drugs. I don't really want any part of such darkness. I was much happier watching Single Mom live peaceably and think on good things.

 

Less than two weeks until we can see Single Mom again!
