    It's that time of year again, when the first official pictures from the new Star Wars movie starts appearing.

    I love how it refers to Luke and Rey as "The Force". It could hint even more that Rey is not going to be training as a Jedi at all, and that Luke and Rey will find a better way. It's entirely possible that Rey will still train as a Jedi, and this is all just to keep us guessing.

    I like the look of Benicio del Toro's character - does he represent the darker side of the criminal underworld in contrast to Han Solo's charming rogue-with-a-heart-of-gold brand of pirate?

    Obviously they dont want to show Rey's new lightsaber. Which I am predicting is going to tie into her staff.

    That's a thought. I think it's more likely, though, that they want to keep us in the dark regarding Luke's lightsaber. I predict that Rey will keep using Anakin's.

    I think so! It's fun action/adventure sort of procedural cop/resistance pilot missions. It definitely brings you closer to Poe. They're light and fun and introduce a villain I wish would appear in the movies but likely won't -- Terex.

    I'm not a fan of the red armor. It makes me think of laser tag gear. Maybe it will look better on film, in motion.

    I'm not entirely sold on them either, but I'm intrigued by their weapons. At first glance, they just look like some sort of halberds or guandaos, but on closer inspection, the two guards are holding different weapons, but both look like they have some sort of energy beam running paralell to the blade. I think we might be into some really cool "halberd" vs lightsaber action.

    Agreed, TCF-1138. I'm still hoping Rey will turn her staff into a saber pike, just to give us a different form of lightsaber combat.

    I'd also like to see Rey somehow turn her staff into a saber. Maybe even build a new double bladed saber for episode IX. She's obviously comfortable and very skilled with a staff.
    Also, that Empire Magazine cover is pretty damn awesome.
