I'd guess it's from the space battle with the bombers against the destroyers. I'm sure one star destroyer gets taken out by such.

Supremacy is most likely taken out from within.

I guess this could be the bridge of the Mandator IV.

They never should have made that bridge tower so huge, it looks like something below the Star Destroyer in scale, tbh.

I actually like it, it looks different and mean haha. I guess the regular resurgents will be there to help with scale.

The more I see of it, the more excited I am about the opening space battle.

What is that behind the Mandator IV?
Look's like some kind of big structure to me.

That's the bridge structure. If you mean behind that, Im 99% sure it's D'Qar's rings

Ok looked a bit man made to me. But then again it's not a good quality picture.

Was re-reading Thrawn and I found myself wondering what the unnamed shuttle they take from Blood Crow to the freighter is. A Lambda or Sentinel seems like it would be too big to be a Gonzanti's runabout. Would a TIE Shuttle be reasonable? I think the old canon had them only holding four passengers, but it also had the cockpit on bombers only holding one and Rebels showed that to no longer be true.

I mentioned in the Ep VIII starship thread that we might have at least three major battles in this movie, rivaling Ep III in the number of possible major battles on screen.

Also have any additional information and pictures been released of the Raddus?

I love the new Mon Cal cruiser and am wondering if I am the only one to think that this is what the Mediator battlecruisers in the Legends canon was supposed to be like. I always had in my mind that it was either two or three hundred meters smaller than the ISD to no bigger than three kilometers in length. Packed with heavy long range weapons and hundreds of Starfighters, not to big and expensive to prevent if from being manufactured in large numbers yet still powerful and tough enough (thanks to Mon Calamari engineering) to take on and win any of the major Imperial ships of the day. I want this to be the first of multiple new NR/R ships to be seen in EP VIII and IX, using the old ROTJ concept art that did not make it into the movie.

Speaking of the Mon Calamari I hope we see Dac in Ep IX :)

The dreadnought looks decent enough IMO, and I figured it'd look better when you've got another warship to scale it against.

I guess it's brought in to attack the Rebe-Resistance base at the start.

So we're actually going to see the Sequel equivalent to the Evacuation of Yavin. Sweet.

Also, Poe's extra booster is totally the Engine Upgrade card from the X-Wing miniatures game.

Engine Upgrade gives Boost. T-70s already have Boost. ;)

Primed Thrusters might work though - allow the pilot to Boost even when stressed.

Ooh, that's a really nice shot, with the X-wing approaching the ships. I also like the X-wing's new design. Yes, I see the previous posts that say its a booster, just glad to see its profile changed a bit after how boring TFA's designs were.

Over on the XWingTMG subreddit, people have been kicking around the idea of a EUmkII upgrade that lets ships that already have boost use a 2- or 3-speed template to boost.

Minor spoilers for Leia, Princess of Alderaan below.

So, in the new Leia, Princess of Alderaan book, a minor plot point is the theft of an Imperial Frigate by a group of rebels along with Imperial Turncoats on the ship.

Thing is, it's consistently referenced as an Imperial Medical Frigate. And what ship do we know, that can be classed as a frigate, is fitted for a medical support role and is under the control of the Rebel Alliance?

    The Nebulon-B Frigate Redemption.

If I'm right, and we are hearing about the capture of the Redemption, then we're also seeing Nebulon-Bs reintroduced as Imperial ships.

It's the same T70 X-wing as in TFA, the profile hasn't changed at all.

very much a fan of snokes ship being as big as it is and having the capabilities to build other ships etc. gives the first order the advantage of building on the move and a way to escape if needed. cant wait to see it on the big screen

I hear that, if you look really closely, you can actually see a thermal exhaust port on the new Mandator.

Is it too much to ask for the Mandator IV to be destroyed conventionally?

    Yes.

Now get back to the space mines, and stop asking so many pesky questions!
