Are the Star Wars Adventures issues going to be collected in volumes like the Marvel ones are?

News! I've written a story for STAR WARS ADVENTURES, the new kids' comic from @IDWPublishing. My first Star Wars comics story in five years!

Bunch of firsts here: It's my first work for @IDWPublishing. It was also, at long last, my first chance to write Luke, Leia, and the droids!

    And another variant cover.

The most interesting thing in that preview is the "X from Wild Space" designation. Looks to me like they'll have a main story, Rey's tale in this issue, along with something more off the beaten path, Finn's misadventure in this issue.

Is that Hondo's Monkey lizard from Florrum on the Tales from Wild Space pic? I'm hoping it is.

If my memory serves me correctly I seem to recall a monkey lizard being a pet of the two kids from the wild space books....

Tales from Wild Space/ Adventures from Wild Space

    Coincidence?[face_dunno]

Something tells me it's no coincidence at all. We'll see tomorrow.

I read somewhere that the Tales from Wild Space stories are in fact related to Adventures from Wild Space.

I was just wondering if it was in the same vein as the Freemaker Adventures.

So, reading it now, and this immediately stuck out to me:

    CONSTABLE ZUVIO YOU'RE BACK

Edit: Finished! Overall, I really liked this first issue. It's surprisingly solid for a comic aimed at younger audiences.

I enjoyed the issue. I really liked the Tales from Wild Space section, and I am happy that Lucasfilm is giving us more and more pre-TFA Jakku day to day life. It really helps to shape out the world. As well as give Rey more character backbone.

Also - Stylized art? MOAR please.

I enjoyed it, the art style reminds me a lot of the Clone Wars Adventures comics based on the CW microseries. It's a good start to a series with plenty of potential. We'll see how it goes.

It was honestly profoundly shocking to see him actually appear. I was half expected he'd been cut since the preview was released.

There has been uncertainty about the canonicity of the series dating back to info given at SWCO, where apparently the creators claimed some of the backup stories might not be canon. Wooieepedia cites this information and apparently links to a video of the SWCO livestream where this is stated.

That being said, there's nothing at all in this first issue that would imply anything about it is not canon.

My thought exactly. It also looks like the concept has changed slightly since then. Originally, Maz Kanata was supposed to tell the tales, was she not?

So it was solid and I really liked...

...to see Dexter and Obi Wan. I wish we would get more PT stories. Anyway I was happy to see at least a couple of PT/OT species at Jakku. We really don't see many of them in this era (Poe Comic, TFA and probably in TLJ too). What happened to them?
