I was in Härjedalen, around 95-98 km* south of Åre. There are many reindeers walking around in small groups there. Most, if not all, of them are semi-domesticated and allowed to walk free untill it is time to move them.

    * I think

Playing a SWRPG session for the first time in quite a while. As soon as we started, they said right off the bat that we wouldn't be doing an Imperial campaign. :(

One day I'll get my wish.

Instead, we're doing a Rebels inspired campaign -- pre-ANH, centered on a single planetary system, and about resisting the Empire. My usual archetype of a court fop seemed inappropriate for this game, so I thought I'd build a character based on the young senatorial WEG archetype instead. The best FFG translations for that were Diplomat Ambassadors or Commander Figureheads. Took me a while to decide between the two.

Eventually I decided that if I was going to be forced to play a stinkin' Rebel, might as well play someone interesting. So I went with Senator Pooja Naberrie. Obscure enough to let my GM allow it, but still an actual character instead of an OC.

So I went with Diplomat Ambassador and built her career skills largely based on what I figured she'd been trained in on Naboo.

Should be fun... if a little different to actually be playing a true Rebel.

Oddly enough, I've done plenty of Imperial campaigns.

Is It A Bothan? appears to have ceased to exist, and the world just got a little bit darker. :(

Lucasfilm must've gotten to them. They seem to be wanting to erase all Bothans everywhere :p

edit: okay what is the deal with this Destiny thing anyway? Everyone was obsessed with the first one and now the second one. It's just a shooter thing right? Or am I missing something?

Destiny was what Bungie did after they left Halo to a new studio, 343 Industries, so it was definitely anticipated. Destiny is indeed a shooter, but with some MMO qualities, namely Raids which are similar to MMO with just 6 people. Destiny was also built with social interaction, mainly centered around a mechanic called Fireteams, which is basically a Party in most other games, with an emphasis on cooperation. There is also quite a bit of lore, most of which was told in the Grimoire cards in the first game.

So basically, it's a MMOFPS, yeah?

Very beautiful, where is that ?

Did you ever watch Transformers as a kid. They were the Pokemon of there Day. Think of Porgs as like that and to prepare yourself for your kids grief, with the death of Optimus Porg

Hey speaking of the letter a with stuff over it, how do you pronounce Skarsgård? With Bill Skarsgård being in the news for IT I've been hearing some different pronunciations.

Beat KOTOR II with TSLRP for the first time. It changed less than I expected, but it did help show off just how great that game's writing is.

It also drive home just how great KOTOR III should have been if LucasArts didn't completely suck at every aspect of making games.

Very sad to hear of Len Wein's passing. He is one of the most important people to work in the industry and his creations and additions will not soon be forgotten

Can people recommend any fantasy or science-fiction comics with a black woman as the main character/as one of the main characters?

Ultimates, by Al Ewing. It's superhero, by very high-concept sci-fi Starlinesque superhero stuff, with two black women and a black man in important roles.

Ultimates and Ultimates^2 are sooo good! Exactly what I wanted in a post-Secret Wars Marvel landscape. Too bad the rest of the universe didn't follow.

Depends on who you ask but I think the Monica Rambeau Captain marvel counts. She did not have a solo series sadly and just sorta showed up as a guest and as an avenger. Early Iron Fist is another thing I suggest due to Danny's girlfriend Misty Knight who is a great character in her own right and I think has gotten a mini before.

Thanks for the suggestions but to me those are more superhero stories then fantasy or science-fiction. Also I have this problem with Ultimates/Ultimates^2 in that they are dealing with fixing-the-multiverse-adventure and we have not even seen a cameo or "meanwhile" from Exiles, Web-Warriors and/or Roma and Captain Britain Corps. But that’s just me being a skulking fanboy :p

This gorgeous piece of art by Doug Wheatley was posted on his Facebook page. In December it will be 4 full years without any Star Wars comics drawn by Wheatley :( Marvel&IDW, I hope you'll change that soon.

Do any of y'all know whether this site giving preorders for the Jaina figurine is legit?

I did some research into it and it appears to be a well-known Hong Kong based e-retailer. HK tends to get figures early or exclusives for some reason (local distribution? Factories there? I dunno). But I've gotten figures early from random HK sellers on eBay before.

In any event I preordered with that website as soon as Jaina was put up.
