Last thing I watched was the Ducktales pilot. It's really the first two episodes stiched together, but it's also very, very good. If you don't have Disny XD you can dowloaded it from iTunes, or depending on where you are, you can watch it on the Disney XD YouTube channel.

    Strike episode 2
Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger are a winning team in this adaptation of J K Rowling's 1st Cormoran Strike novel. They have the chemistry that Besson was looking for in his Valerian movie, plus dialogue that doesn't make you want to stick your fingers in your ears to dull the pain. Haven't read the books so I don't know how it rates as an adaptation.

I binged Ozark over Labor Day. I liked it a lot. I wasn't expecting to like it. Jason Bateman plays his character like a darker version of Michael Bluth. There's also a lot of dark comedy which helps the more-serious Arrested Development feel. I would say it takes heavy inspiration from Breaking Bad although its course and where it starts is entirely different.

My one major criticism is BLUE. Everything is so Goddamned blue. Even the yellows are blue. It's as though the color grading guy fell asleep and turned it all the way up.

I just started Westworld. That was a really good first episode! I'm definitely going to watch this whole season now. It was really interesting. The music and setting were both great.

I just watched the Season 21 premiere of South Park, "White People Renovating Houses." The episode was actually hilarious, unlike most of the last two seasons, but what really made me laugh out loud was when Cartman was playing around with Alexa, adding gross item after gross item to his shopping list. This actually activated my own Echo Dot, so I now have a few items on my own shopping list I'd rather not have.

Several Episodes of the Bob Newhart Show (some channel was showing it all weekend.) It strikes me a lot funnier than it did when we revisited a few years ago. Newhart's deadpan expression to almost everyone about everything was pretty great. I thought the office moments with Bob, the dentist, Bob and dentist's secretary Carol and Bob's patients were the funniest moments. I did like the remaining cast too.

Two episodes into The Deuce. It's... not good. Rampant cliches. Corrupt cops who don't really care about anything, irredeemable psychopath pimps, naive girl who's not really naive, compulsive gambler with a huge debt to the mob, prostitutes with intellect and lives outside of ****ing *******s for survival-- they're humans; so edgy!-- and like, everything about 1970s NYC that contemporary media ran into the ground. James Franco is playing identical twins for some reason. Why is this a thing in 2017? Actors don't need to be playing two characters most of the time. It's just distracting. Orphan Black is a recent exception, since it's integral to the premise and the plot plus Tatiana Maslany is good at playing distinct characters. The show also has an almost obligatory specter of gentrification because its only and an inherent advantage over 1970s media is that it knows the future. Yawn. I'm hoping this will have more to say or at least get more creative.

Oh, it has the most hardcore sex I can recall seeing in a prestige drama. It's literally slightly blurry pornography which I s. So I guess if you like reenactments of 1970s underground porn, you can tolerate a bland plot/characters padding out 45 minutes and you can't be bothered to do a quick internet search, this show is for you.

Safe House - S2 episodes 1 & 2 UK crime drama about a retired detective who now runs a remote safe house for police witnesses. The first series starred Christopher Eccleston as the retired police officer and was set in the Lake District and featureda family who witnessed the stabbing of a man who are moved to the eponymous safe house. I didn't particularly enjoy it that much and felt the ending was a bit of a let down.

However this second series features a completely different cast of characters and is set (I believe) on the coast of Anglesey, but has a much more interesting premise. A serial killer (although I don't think the bodies have been found) called The Crow has been in prison for 8 years. His crimes were the abduction of 3 women from their homes whilst leaving their husband tied up and helpless. A new crime is committed, but is it a copycat? The retired police detective and owner of the safe house always believed The Crow had an accomplice and that it was the accomplice who was imprisoned whilst the real Crow remained free. He also believed The Crow's real targets were the husbands, with 2 of them dying in the years since the crimes. The family of the latest victim are taken into the safe house in an effort to keep the missing womans partner safe whilst the investigation continues, with the retired policeman being kep up to speed on the case from his remaining friend within the force. We learn the latest missing woman is still alive and is being kept captive somewhere.

So far so good, its off to a decent start I thought and is much more compelling than the first series, plus there are a few subplots going on too. Why was he kicked off the force? What was his relationship with the police commisioner and why has she warned him to keep away from the case? Was the latest missing womans partner to blame? Was he having a relationship with her daughter? Where is the woman being kept? Why did The Crow make a macabre camp in the womens homes whilst he lay in wait for them to return home? How did 2 of the husbands die and why is one still alive? Where are the 3 missing women from 8 years ago? Who is the Crow and did he have an accomplice?

Very underrated show. I've always thought it was really great. Newhart's other shows, not so much, but I love this series.

Agreed. Wasn't a fan of the later show at the Inn, but I loved how that ended! BNS was tailor made for Newhart's cerebral humor.

I didn't think last season was all that great though it had its moments but Season 19 was the best ones they ever did. I quote Principal PC all the time!

Last week's episode was great though and Cartman's relationship with his girlfriend is very interesting.

Episodes 1 and 2 of Iron Fist. I like Danny and Colleen Wing, but have absolutely no patience for the remaining cast or the plot (I get 100% what was up, but the pacing and twirling mustache antics of every single bad character was just a bit much even for me.) So I'll wish them all well and act like I haven't seen anything.

This morning, local PBS station is running a day of Japanese programming (Hai!), so the Lucky Chow episode on ramen was fun, as was Rudy Maxa's Taste of Japan. Rudy usually isn't my cup but he was gracious here.

It was a brief hit on Adult Swim that aired last year, created by the comedy/anti-comedy group "Million Dollar Extreme"; consisting of Sam Hyde, Nick Rochefort and Charls Carroll. Anyway, it did pretty well (got better ratings than Eric Andre’s first season). 100 episodes were ordered and it was immediately greenlighted for a second season, but Turner (Adult Swim's parent company) had to shut it down.
