Comics Captain Phasma #1-4 (4/4 Released) [Journey to TLJ]

After the release of 4, we have to collectively write what we think would be the story in #5.

 

Really happy I picked this one up...beautiful art and I'm enjoying the story. This mini is definitely getting me amped up for TLJ.

 

So we have what appears to be a Phasma novel reference!

Whilst scrabbling across the narrow cliffs of Luprora, the world they track Rivas to, Phasma claims not to trust the planet because it "reminds me too much of one I used to know." While she doesn't elaborate any more than that, it seems a pretty obvious reference to Parnassos given the context.

An intriguing set up for the rest of the mini, but too soon to say if the story will be any good. It definitely has a lot of promise though. And the art is amazing, Checchetto killed it this issue. I really liked the design of the sea creature that attacked Phasma. With the designs of the dragon-like creatures in Obi-Wan&Anakin and now this issue, Checchetto is a master of drawing Star Wars monsters.

Echoing everything spicer said. What beautiful coloring. Checchetto and Mossa are doing a fantastic job on this mini. And that incredible sea monster! Superb creature design. Like a spiky, tangle-of-tentacles revamp of the Cloverfield movie monster.

 

It was an okay issue. I'm not sure if it has legs going forward, though. We'll see.

 

The art is great and I'm really enjoying this series.

 

Really enjoyed this too. I thought it was really interesting that the comic medium allowed for a nice surprise when the TIE pilot was revealed. You wouldn't have been able to do that with audio.

 

I'm not sure how I feel about this new comic. I'm not a big Phasma fan, I feel like her novel kind of ruined her for me since now I know that at least both the pilot and their target are going to have to die, simply because Phasma is Phasma.

 

They won't die as murder, it'll just be a really tragic accident.

I wouldn't be surprised if Phasma really did have a list of people who she wants to kill.

True enough.

 

Whole lotta monster fighting in this issue and I thought we were thisssss close to seeing Phasma without her helmet but she just put on another helmet. :/ And Phasma's determination to take out the "traitor" is pretty fun considering the rather dangerous place the guy ended up she could probably be pretty sure he's going to be dead but she has to finish the job cuz she wants to save her skin that badly. Or just really wants to murder.

I like the TIE Pilot (And Phasma naming her "pilot") and the fact that there are many full panel splash pages is always a treat.

 

Oh I have been on her list for a while anyways. Complimented Hux's jacket which is apparently worthy of a court Marshall. I know GrandAdmiralJello agrees with that ruling

 

Am I the only one who thinks that Hux is going to meet his end by Phasma?

 

Love the art in this series! I wish every Star Wars comic could have art this beautiful.

And Phasma is just the worst kind of scum. Makes me feel bad for the Pilot, cause I don't think she'll be walking out of this one, unless she somehow leaves the First Order completely at the end of the series.

Have to say, the FO was already depicted in the movie as absolutely evil, but seeing them portrayed in the comics and novels so far, that organisation really doesn't have any redeemable qualities. With the Empire, you could imagine it work if you would remove Palpatine, Vader and the Dark Side influence, which is what we got with Pellaeon's Empire, but with the FO, the whole organisation is pretty much just a terrorist group run by corrupt depraved scum that uses brainwashed children as cannon fodder.
