Completely agree on this one, the FO almost entirely comprise hardline elements. I guess that's what happens when you flee into exile and stew over your defeat for decades in relative isolation. They're fanatics in a way that the Empire never were. And yet what's more fascinating is that there are definite chinks in that fanaticism, everyone seems to be in it for power or self-interest. There's that officer who abandons his post when SKB is exploding, and now here's Phasma going off on her own. Meanwhile, Terex is very much his own agent in the Poe Dameron series. How many are just using the organization? It feels that Snoke is perhaps holding it together just barely. No wonder he has Executioners.

Phasma: Did I ever tell you the story of 2199 and 2187?
    TN-3465: No, Captain.
Phasma: Well 3456, it's a little bit of a long story.
    TN-3465: It's 3465, Captain.
Phasma: Right, that's what I said, so anyway, the story of 2999 and 1278 is not a story I'm proud of.
TN-3465: Wait, did you say 2999 or 2199?
Phasma: I don't know. We called him nines, I don't remember how many nines he had.
    TN-3465: And was it 2187 or 1278?
Phama: Whatever Leia's cell number was during the battle of Yavin.

I feel like that was the whole point of the FO. That they are just this evil organization bent on ruling the galaxy, and I feel like that's why they are trying to humanize the Empire so much, to make readers see that while Palpatine's Empire was bad, at least it wasn't the FO.

Question for those who have issue three...

I heard Siv makes an "appearance" via flashback... can someone post a picture of what she looks like, if this is true? :)

The art in this series is off-the-charts good. Love the references to Phasma, the novel.

I assume that is Phasma's dad and little Phasma in the flashback?

I didn't get the interest in Phasma being umasked because she had already appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair. But now I understand it...I assumed she'd just simply be Gwendoline Christie as she normally appears, However, Pablo Hiadlgo is quoted as saying Phasma on the cover of Vanity Fair “does not represent her appearance in the movie.” Love how this mini is teasing us with possible unmaskings. The events of the novel certainly gave us clues as to what she may be hiding under that mask.

Happy that the timeline is so tight so we don't have to wait long for the next issue.

    revan772 Dare I say...
...that Siv looks like Shara Bey and Checchetto's Aphra?

I concur. Loving the art, and the personality of Pilot is really starting to emerge and I like that.

Yeah Checchetto is great overall but sometimes his faces lack enough detail to distinguish certain characters. Though he usually avoids that within a single series, like here having just the pilot's face shown most of the time, and then some non-humans with distinct faces.

I think it's safe to assume that Phasma might actually have some feelings for Siv, like she may actually care about a person other than herself? What a shocker.

I don’t know about that... she did hint to Cardinal that she was thinking of going back to her home world to kill any survivors. I doubt / hope that was not successful but she did bring it up.

I don't think she was referring to Siv, but only a sequel will reveal otherwise!

Bought #3 not realising that #2 hadn't been available in my store as such due to my Asperger's I refused to read the issue I actually did buy and will not read the rest of the series until the full thing comes out in TPB, so I can read what I missed.

OCD is a funny thing isn't it ;)

The pilot is turning out to be probably the most likable character in the book, which makes me think Phasma is going to kill her, although Phasma starting to disorient herself about who she was talking too isn't exactly a sign that she's all right in the head. I haven't read the Phasma novel so the flashbacks are uber-mysterious. Anyway, Phasma did do awesome here as she basically rallied the entire village behind her as a saviour sent from on high and they're just canon fodder. And the "shocking" resolution was great.

Yeah, you can see that Phasma is an intelligent and capable person, but utterly immoral and selfish at the same time.

The pilot is more likable, but I don't find her a particularly interesting character on her own. She works as Phasma's companion here.

I am liking what they are doing to Phasma in the EU.

I'm really liking this seriesl loved that electo weapon in issue 3. This series surprised me a lot. I thought it would be a filler series, instead its awesome.

Yeah as much as I was very "What is the point of fleshing out this very disappointing new Boba Fett" following TFA it has been very rewarding they way they've explained her character. Just kind of wish the Journey to TFA was a lot of this Phasma stuff, and immediately after we got this comic and everything. I really wish the Story Group could coordinate these stories better to have their biggest possible impact to really flesh out the movies beforehand rather than in retrospect. It's a complaint couched in a compliment, but I have really enjoyed the Phasma content not onscreen.

This was a nice little ride, but was it needed? The art was beautiful which helped, but the story was a little shallow. The most this comic did for me was enhance the character of Phasma by giving a little insight into the person she is. The tiny glimpse of her past we got in #3 was a highlight for me.

If I hadn't read this comic, I would have assumed that all knowledge of Phasma lowering the shields was blown up with the planet. So if anything, this comic confirms that she survived which isn't too much of a stretch to believe since Hux and Kylo Ren were instructed to leave Starkiller Base by Snoke and we're going to see them in TLJ so the fact they survived opens it up to other survivors. If Disney wanted, they could tell us the story of CrackerJack Jim and how he survived the battle of Starkiller Base.

    With that said, concerning #4...
It was pretty obvious and many predicted that Phasma was going to tie up loose ends and she did just that. She used the war between the two races on the planet as a distraction to get to the officer that had the data on Phasma. She killed him, then the droid BB-K8, and then the Pilot.

Phasma returns to the First Order where Hux is on the Finalizer (I believe that's the same ship from TFA but not 100%). She briefly tells him what happened and makes available her log of events to him for a full debrief. We are shown more new looking ships and a bunch of Ties as the final "shot" where it says To Be Continued in TLJ...

So was this story really needed? Sadly, I don't think so as our brain can connect the short path of dots from TFA to TLJ concerning Phasma. I guess we'll see how much Phasma we'll actually get in TLJ and if anything else from this comic has any bearing on the movie other than her mere survival. At this point, personally, I care more about Rey/Luke & Kylo/Leia more than I care about Finn/Rose/Phasma/casino stuff at this time.

I really liked the issue and the whole series. I didn't thought that they could rescue Phasma after TFA. They have done a good job. This was one of the best mini series too.
I liked the pilot, but after reading the book it was clear that she would be killed. Well the fate other guy was obvious.
I really hope Phasma will be awesome in TLJ (and don't lose against Finn tho).

I think you answered your own question quite well with your opening. True, I don't think we needed this comic (do we really need any of these?) but it functions well as a further look into the character of Phasma; her ruthlessness but also her 'out for herself only' attitude. I think everyone had assumed going into TFA that she was a hardline loyalist, and so we were all very confused (and disappointed I guess) about why she didn't die in vain for the First Order refusing to lower the shields. This story helps alleviate that confusion, and sets us up for TLJ.

I didn't hate the comic, but it wasn't my favorite. I'm still not a big fan of Phasma, simply because it's kind of hard for me to connect with her since she just seems pure evil. I enjoyed the comic series enough, I just don't like the character of Phasma that much.

Also, I totally called Phasma killing Pilot, I liked her character, but I knew that she had to go because Phasma will do anything to live, even kill puppies. Also, Hux is totally playing with fire and doesn't even know it.
