"temporary" filler images . . . "for the time being" . . . for an official starwars.com sneak peak for a book that's coming out in less than a month? Sorry guys, but I guarantee you that hammerhead image is going to be in the final book.

It wouldn't be the first time, "The Imperial Handbook" used a picture of the Assertor class dreadnaught to represent the Executor. A bit annoying, but these things happen.

If I was drinking water I would have spat it out at the sight of a misidentified Thranta. With that being said It gives me hope that Disney still remembers SWTOR. Give us more SWTOR! I really, really want a guide to the Republic Navy. What interests me the most is the apparent technological stagnation, as evident by barely changed Hammerheads fighting in the NSW. This would give us the opportunity to see Hammerheads, Valors, Centurions and Infinities fighting in the same fleets. Plus, a book exploring the Navy could give some insight into the post-SWTOR-era and the Dark Ages.

Sadly, the closest thing we'll probably ever get to that is the old KotOR Campaign Guide. I still fondly remember the Republic Navy section, especially how it described the Restoration, where the Navy reorganized and rebuilt after the Great Sith War into the form we see during the Jedi Civil War.

SWTOR is mostly just continuing on by itself, but who knows how long it will last. And with the KotOR 10th year anniversary come and gone, not like they'll even do a HD update of it anymore.

I'm really excited to see the Pelta-class on here, the mention of a handful of them being retrofitted by the Rebellion makes me hopeful that we'll see some more besides just Phoenix Home. I think it would be a fantastic addition to any rebel fleet.

Yeah, making the Pelta-class frigates more of a Rebel mainstay works well. They are a classic Republic design, they are modular, and they would fill an important niche in the fleet, especially pre-ANH. Raddus noted that many were acquired as medical ships, it doesn't surprise me at all that the Rebels would convert them for combat duty. The Rebel strategy for fleet build up seems to be about putting ships into service ASAP, filling gaps until the "heavy hitters" of the MC75 and MC80 class become available.

While I vastly prefer the Nebulon to the Pelta, I definitely love how retrofitted Peltas are brought into the Rebel Fleet, they work excellently with the aesthetic. All I want is more classes of bigger ships to fill out the power gap between 300m and 1200m, and confirmation of some cruisers significantly larger than 1200 that can really tough it out with ISDs.

We limited resources! Must use them efficiently! How about we convert these medical ships into combat warships, and our escort frigates into hospital ships!

This thought did cross my mind. :p

It's entirely possible that the Redemption and other Rebel medical frigates were by & large acquired pre-modified, but I did chuckle at this for sure. :p

I kinda hope that thing isn't a Starhawk but rather a Nebulon K, I really hate that big rear...thing... hanging down.

i like the fact that one of the news from that trailer looks like a cross between a hammerhead corvette and a nebulon b frigate.

Yes they are Snafu. Though you can tell they are not identical to the ones seen in ESB and ROTJ, they are modified and modernized similarly to the AT-ACT but in the opposite direction - more armor.

The stern of the RADDUS reminds me so much of Home One in all the right ways.

If the Rebel Fleet gets blown up for the third movie in a row I'll throw a tantrum that will make the H-bomb look like a firecracker.

Are we Forgetting the Nebulon-K Frigate?
Seems like a pretty good option here.

I'm hoping it's that, it seemed a little small for a Starhawk. I hope we see Starhawks, I just hope that think we saw isn't one, because that big dangler on it is u-g-l-y.

I'm more curious about the design to the right of the Raddus (if that is the Raddus) in the second and fourth images. Does not look familiar at all.

Image not showing up for me, but I think I spotted it too - in the background when we get the forward view of Kylo spinning.

(Which I think strongly implies that battle is not the same as the evacuation of D'Qar. Hmmm.)

Thanks for the screenshots, I heard the director say the trailer might be too spoiler-ish so I've been avoiding it. EDIT: Now he says to watch it? Well, I'll get to it tomorrow, still half-asleep now. Looks awesome, definitely going for a midnight showing.
