Lit What should be done with Knights of Ren?

Ever since their brief appearance in that flashback in TFA, I have been wanting to see more of this brotherhood of evil.

I do like how them and Kylo have a ToR sith look to them.


Unfortunately it seems their appearance has been avoided in the TLJ trailers, instead TLJ is promoting Snokes guards.

Still, I am wishing to get content about them pre-TFA and also if any are still alive, what they are doing during the events of the ST.

Have each Knight eventually be fleshed out to some degree instead of dying off with little background. Get to see the origins of the organization and their nature. Them being darksiders should be an idea that shouldn't happen.

We don't need another Inquisitor knock off, and them being very deadly even without the darkside (minus Kylo) goes to show how threatening they are.

I like how they have got a mix between melee weapons and blasters.

Kylo Ren should be the only one with a red blade, but having 1 Knight acquire a Jedi blade would be a bonus to story telling. PT, dark times, and OT periods have had examples of a non-force user using a saber. Once again the color of blue or green should be used by someone with ill intent. Also give someone that Kylo could help train with the blade.

Anyways what do you want for the future of the KoR? What should come out of their stories?

Should they appear with Kylo in a duel against our heroes in TLJ?

 

We don't know that was them in the flashback, I think.

We also don't know if they're Force-sensitive or not, and they probably don't wield lightsabers.

 

I want the Knights of Ren to be ideologically distinct from the Sith.

I'm hoping they'll be selfless servants of what they believe to be the Good...just utterly ruthless and brutal.

 

j.j.abrams said he would like to see them in a film so im sure we will get some nice nasty stuff in maybe episode 9 how about if they think they are the true jedi and thats what luke means in they need to end ?

 

i mean in a twisted way they think they are the true jedi and kylo is the leader so outs possible

 

If Kylo is their master, then they can't be more than cannon fodder redshirts, since everyone admits Kylo hasn't finished his training yet.

 

They should all be sent to their respective rooms without dinner.

 

They are as mysterious as Snoke himself

 

I kind of hope that now Kylo is the last one ("Master" because he killed them all), it'd be a nifty parallel with Luke, and could go on a deep dive with them in comics, novels and TeeVee.

 

Are they all Force users and lightsaber wielders? IIRC (and I may be wrong) the brief group shot only showed Kylo with a lightsaber.

 

Maybe they've just been promoted

 

If you follow that line, then we have to agree that Rey is essentially cannon fodder. Having absolutely no training and all that.

What if we find out the Knights of Ren are Vader's children?

That's the best part. The aging process, like a fine wine, only improves them. They would be the most powerful beings the galaxy has ever seen. The only thing that would top them would be if I had a daughter that had children with a smuggler. As if we'd ever let our daughter hook up with a scruffy looking nerf herder.

I'd like to see them occasionally in the ST with background roles. Say, a FO fleet is engaging enemies, and it's commander is a Knight, or a group of stormtroopers is led by one. The comics and novels could have them as main antagonists. The Knights would be to Kylo as the Inquisitors of old were to Vader. Just like him, but more common and expendable. It would make Kylo seem even more powerful, being the leader of them all.

To be honest, I wouldn't be too bothered if the KoR didn't appear in episodes 8 and 9. I thought they looked pretty cool in the flashback (if that was them), but they could just be an interesting background detail to Kylo Ren. That said, I would enjoy learning more about the KoR and their origins in a book or a comic series.

I do, however, suspect that they will make an appearance in the coming ST films. I don't think that they would have been referenced in TFA if they weren't going to be featured later on.

 

I'm hoping Ren is a Darth-like title and all their names are suffix'd by it - whatever Ren is - but I haven't thought much of them beyond a specialist fighting unit or something. Maybe they scatter throughout the galaxy and only reunite when summoned.

Yes! Yes! This is your chance Disney -- do that thing that kids love! Kids love TEAMS! Like Power Rangers and Care Bears and My Little Ponies and Pokemon! You give them X-number of characters on a team and kids are going to argue to high heaven on the playground that Character ABC is their favorite because they can shoot laserbeams out their ears or smells like strawberries or has a sparkly horse or whatever special thing makes them special (because remember kids everybody is special in their own way, especially if they're the one that smells like strawberries and has a sparkly horse).

Just look at those guys, I bet they're all totally unique and would make the next great batch of evil Batman-like villains. The Inquisitors totally dropped the ball on that. One tried to be special and sabercoptor and suddenly they were all doing it.

Also don't die. That helps.

It's better if you actually put some time into thinking of what your special ability or quality is. Maybe you can swim better or like botany or baking fine bread or gamble or whatever. That's a start. Now think of something that you'd see a heinous Batman villain do, like maybe you're the one that keeps talking in Pazaak terms to throw off your enemies or you can make plants grow super fast and kill people or something. Evil Force powers FTW. And then kids will want to buy your action figure and think you're the smartest or the funniest or the one with the coolest vibroblade or whatever. I don't know why I'm talking in second person.

But yeah, teams. Teams are awesome. But I don't think Kylo's a team player so his team's probably gonna fall apart before we get the Knights of Ren Happy Meal set.

 

Now I want to see the Knights of Ren (or at least one of them) riding on a sparkly crystal horse

 

I wonder if some of them are the group described in the aftermath trilogy. I believe one had a sith artifact mask
