JCC Act of Valor is a great movie

More or less what I expected, along with videogame comparisons throughout the reviews and comments.

 

Well let's be frank, considering the reviews so far, one has to wonder as to why this sucker wasn't simply named CALL OF DUTY: THE MOVIE.

Probably would've made more money too and serve the same purpose (nearly 2 hr. long recruitment ad).

Yeah. That's pretty spot on. Run Silent, Run Deep is pretty inaccurate, too. Still, I enjoyed the movies like I enjoyed this one.

Still never seen this movie and probably never will but the whole "real Navy Seals doing real combat maneuvers" was a hellova marketing hook that it's stuck in my head, at least.

It's a terrible film so full of tone-deaf jingowistic wankery that you're surprised the cast could finish it, as they'd surely be blind.

 

The whole point of that movie was to watch Professional Badasses be Professional Badasses.

 

I got this mixed up with the DeNiro/Cuba Gooding Jr. movie Men of Honor. I am disappoint.

 

Notice how the SAS don't do films where their higher tier of professional awesomeness is on display? Yeah.

Why do SAS wear gas masks non-stop in video games? In my experience that would be quite impractical. Plus in R6 Siege the gas masks offer no protection at all. And sledgehammers are lame when the Americans get thermite explosives.
