first pages are about Lor San Tekka doing a "mission impossible" kind of visit in Cato Neimoidia, there he find a spherical, dark bronze/gold artefact with red template

so im wondering if this will be the final arc cause this is my theory: The Resistance finds Lor San Tekka, they get him out whatever jam he got himself into, Poe will escort him back to Jakku to get his piece of the map and that's where the events of TFA being? am i in the ballpark?

I wouldn't be surprised if Black Squadron go through this whole arc trying to rescue only for Lor to escape by himself and go off into hiding again kind of like the ending to Dooku Captured arc in TCW- interesting premise but at the end of the day there's a status quo to maintain

According to the second Join the Resistance book
Snap and Karé got married when L'ulo was still alive. How the heck are they just dating and taking a break here? Where are the continuity guys when you need them?

This was the best issue yet IMO. Good action in the vault and good character development

Eh, it wouldn't be the first time someone was mistakenly believed to be alive for someone's marriage.

Also not unheard of- see Anakin and Padmé in the Clovis trilogy.

Yeah, the Poe comic has clearly been portraying them as dating. Them being married works technically (with them taking a break and all) but it doesn't really seem like there was much communication between the writers here.

I have only read about half of the first Join the Resistance book and havn't even bough the second one yet so I havn't come across them getting married yet. However according to the Wook they were trying to keep their marriage a secret. If they aren't even bothering to announce they have been married chances are they aren't real serious about the marriage thing anyways (people get married on a whim all the time without bothering to think about it much). And it wouldn't be much of a stretch for one of them to mention that they wanted to take a break from the unannounced marriage for awhile.

Now of course we can't really say if the writers of the comic an JtR were on the same page or not but we still can make it fit pretty easily. After all it's not like Kare said she wanted to break up. She just said that she wanted to take a break for awhile until things settled down.

Who knows maybe Kare will die at the end of this arc and Poe will try to comfort a devastated snap.

Poe: I'm sorry Snap, I know what she meant to you
Snap: Meant to me?! She was my wife poe!
    Poe: What?
Snap: Shortly after our first encounter with Terex and the Creche' I asked her to marry me, we resistance pilots don't have very long life spans if the first order gets their way, we didn't want anyone to know so we kept it all a secret.
    Poe: I'm sorry man, I didn't know

Think back to the first arc when Snap tells Kare' he has something to tell her during a mission, we all assumed it was a cliche' "I love you" but with hindsight maybe it was "Will you marry me?"

According to Join the Resistance: Escape from Vodran, the attending wedding guests included almost everyone on the base, except for the leadership, because they "already had enough on their plates without worrying about the love story between a couple of their best pilots". Poe officiated the wedding.

But to be frank the whole thing is rather... atrocious, because
Mattis Banz, the young protagonist of the book, was in charge of the food, and he prepared a pudding that contained izy leaves, and er... izy leaves give people... er, gas. As Poe starts asking "Do you, Snap Wexley, take Karé Kun to be your—", we're told that "his insides erupted in the most atmosphere-ripping flatulence the galaxy ever heard." And everybody laughs. And then Snap does a "four-alarm fart" as he tries to answer. Karé yells at him, but "let out a deep, meteoric toot herself". Soon, everyone who'd eaten the crackling pudding was "sounding off like firecrackers, tooting and honking and letting loose with all kinds of gassy exclamations."

This scene was one of the most embarrassing scene I have ever read.

And that is the main reason I stopped reading the first book because they weren't taking the story anymore seriously than that. I think that series is more or less just intended to be a fun read for ten to twelve year olds (after all that is one of the main things my friends and I would do at the lunch table at that age is sit around the table telling fart jokes) and isn't at all supposed to be something for all ages. After hearing that scene you just described LelalMekha I don't think I will ever go back to those Join the Resistance books.

I think the Wook should just stick with the fact that they got married but Kare wanted to slow things down a bit for awhile between them until the Resistance/First Order feud died down. After all that does make sense for her to say that if they are currently having sex every chance they get. Yes it probably would have made more sense for her to mention sex directly instead of making it sound like she was wanting to take a break from the entire relationship for awhile. But I don't get the feeling that those types of conversations are allowed in the Star Wars media so the writers have to find a way to get around it.

Wait... there is an actual scene with the various members of the Resistance farting at a wedding? [face_frustrated]o_O

If that's the case, I am so happy I never picked up these books.

Yes. Kids around 10,11,12 think those kinds of jokes are really funny. It's usually the period right before they discover girls.

Here is a scene from the movie Stand By Me which pretty accurately explains how kids that age view those types of jokes. This is about throwing up more than farting but still getting along the same kind of humor. Couldn't find the full scene on youtube but this is the main part of it.

Anyways I wouldn't be surprised if that move was made to set Kare up to be killed off at the end of the series.

The object that Lor was picking up on Cato Nemodia really got my interest spiked as to the Light/Dark sides. I am really curious as to what direction they are taking the Force lore and mysticism.

I'm really thinking that they are going to make it to where the ancient Jedi were a lot more balanced in their Force beliefs. Then as time moved on they became extreme on either one side or the other.

It reminds me of Maul and Ezra having to open the holocron together. I wonder if both stories are drawing from some concept we might be seeing in a certain feature film in a couple of months.

Join the Resistance 2 just replaced Heir to the Jedi as the weakest novel of the new canon in my eyes. Easily.

Honestly, it didn't capture my interest enough to make reading the second one a big priority, but I don't remember anything nearly that pre-adolescent in the first book. [face_dunno]
