    Matches:

1 - 3 The Chuck Liddell/Randy Couture trilogy of matches

    4. The Ultimate Fighter 1 finale: Stephan Bonner vs Forrest Griffin - This is what got me into becoming a UFC/MMA fan.

    5. Stephen Thompson vs Tyrone Woodley at MSG a year ago.

6 - 7. Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz duology. Hopefully we'll get that 3rd match someday.

    8. Matt Serra vs George St. Pierre.

heels1785 - you got any to add? It's late here and I'm blanking.

As for most exciting fighers, Leaving Conor out of it, because his personality just eclipses everybody right now...

    1. Demetrius Johnson.

    2. T.J. Dillashaw

    3. Joanna Jedrzejczk - be interesting to see how she comes back from her loss against Rose.

    Hoo-ey. Okay, this is tough.

Alright, I'll give you my favorite 5, the 5 that I consider "best," and then the 3 most exciting fighters. All UFC - I watched Strikeforce, have seen some Bellator and PRIDE, but know much less about them, in terms of context. Disclaimer - I've only been watching since UFC 66, Liddell/Ortiz II, in 2006 - lots of the Gracie/Shamrock era stuff I have never seen. There are two fights on here that precede UFC 66 (GSP/Penn I and Griffin/Bonnar), that I've seen on replay.

    My Five:
    1. Dan Henderson vs. Mauricio Rua I
    2. Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen I
    3. Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping I
    4. Randy Couture vs. Tim Sylvia
    5. Carlos Condit vs. Robbie Lawler

    Best Five:
    1. Dan Henderson vs. Mauricio Rua I (seriously, gotta watch it)
    2. GSP vs. BJ Penn I
    3. Forrest Griffin vs. Stephan Bonner (watch this one first, essentially the "birth" of the modern UFC)
    4. Chuck Liddell vs. Wanderlei Silva
    5. Lyoto Machida vs. Mauricio Rua I

    Most Exciting:
    1. Demetrius Johnson - not even close
    2. Charles Oliveira
    3. Diego Sanchez

    Also, best:
    1. Paige VanZant

    :p

You won't find Jon Jones or Conor McGregor on my lists, unfortunately. Jon's fight with Gustaffson tops a lot of lists of great fights, though.

I watched Bonner/Griffin live when it happened on Spike TV that night. Replays do not diminish this fight on iota.

Oh wow - that is awesome, Juliet. ^:)^

My favorite fight that I saw truly live was Anderson and Chael. The most exciting moment I ever saw live was Hendo knocking Bisping's block off at UFC 100. I nearly broke my neck celebrating that one.

Still disappointed I'm not going to be able to get to The Scope to see UFC Fight Night tonight.

That is crazy. I can't believe he's medically cleared for that, after the beating he took. 3 weeks?

Exactly. He's claiming he didn't take much damage in that fight, but ... yeah.

No opponent still for Ferguson after Frankie Edgar had to pull out.

Now I know why I was thinking Aldo earlier, UFC just confirmed Aldo will be stepping in for Frankie Edgar and getting his rematch with Max Holloway at UFC 218.

And damn, why was I thinking Ferguson, geez. Brain's seriously off - kilter tonight.

Oscar De La Hoya Says He Can Beat Conor McGregor in Two Rounds

I have no interest in this fight should it actually happen. And if it does, I hope De La Hoya would get his butt kicked for being a hypocrite as he threw shade on the Mayweather vs McGregor figure.

Top 10 matches in no order...

Fedor Emelianenko vs Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira 1
Wanderlei Silva vs Quinton Jackson 2
    Jon Jones vs Alexander Gustafsson
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs Mirko Filipovic
Jose Aldo vs Chad Mendes 2
Mauricio Rua vs Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
Robbie Lawler vs Rory McDondald 2
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs Bob Sapp
Dan Henderson vs Mauricio Rua 1
    Takanori Gomi vs Tatsuya Kawajiri

Most exciting right now I would say...

    TJ Dillashaw
    Michael Page
    Anthony Johnson

Can't say I find Demetrius Johnson as interesting as some, just not tough enough comp and he fights too safe until very late into matches against guy he should be destroying.

Juliet, did you get to see the Sydney card? Timing threw me off a bit, and I ended up dropping FightPass a few months ago.

Looks like a solid performance from Werdum, but unlikely to warrant a PPV headliner soon.

Ok, gonna start here tonight and maybe watch some of *your* (Juliet316 and moreorless12 included) at about a match or two a week as the goal.

heels gave the definitive stand behind a fight boldly and with conviction thumbs up, so hard to pass that up. Nothing like an introduction to (reintroduction) to something that is essentially "if you can't enjoy this, then it just isn't for you" pledge.

And a google search turned up this fight as S01E01 of Hulu's UFC Unleashed. I'm guessing this is a collection of some of the consensus best. And as a bonus, I get to watch legally. Boxing really needs to be more open about putting up their past great fights (recent, not 40 years ago) for easy and guilt free consumption.

It was the finale of the first season of the Ultimate Fighter, which used to be a great reality-style elimination show for the UFC that served as a feeder for young talent to get into the organization.

Edit - and that's great news, Juliet. Glad she's fighting soon!
