She never seemed like someone who was re-discovering her passion. Mostly just like a person who had never heard of any of it before, despite the fact that, as per the above, she was clearly supposed to have done so.

Where is she shown as over-awed? She simply lost interest in the cause. Seems Saw molded her passion as a child, so much of her motivation was bound up in fighting within his group. When he abandoned her she thought "well **** this. I'm going it alone & no longer give a **** about the Rebellion or Empire". Until the situation with her father made her personally invested again. I'm not seeing a problem.

Yeah, you're right. Hard core terrorists raised in extremist ideologies that spend a good decade actively living things out usually just wake up one day and are like "Yeah, whatevs" and then just become normal people thereafter and completely abandon everything that had been central to their life prior.

Then I admittedly wouldn't understand her reasoning based on what was shown in the film, nor why, outside this question of motivation, she otherwise seems very normal. Which is sort of where I started the discussion.

Anyway, it was a nice enough movie. I'm just saying, that particular element didn't make a huge deal of sense.
