Respect to Nottingham Forrest, but that was clearly a double kick on the penalty and should have been disallowed. We really just can't get fair officiating. We probably would have lost anyway, but it's disgraceful for the officials to keep screwing us over.

Coutinho wanted out. Keeping him till end of season makes sense in some respects but you then move into the land of what ifs.

Can you imagine if Barca had agreed a £140m deal for the end of the season and he then break his leg, do his ACL etc...? I'm actually kind of amazed and Liverpools deal for Kaita considering this but then again its a much cheaper deal (comparatively speaking)

As it stands Liverpool have a very very strong frontline even without Coutinho and still have a strong chance of top 4. they get 140 not enabling them to pay off VVD and still have 50m for new players (Keeper perhaps?) and not need to worry about replacing Coutinho as Keita will fill that gap next season.

Liverpool are actually in a strong place currently. They know how this season "should" pan out and top 4 is a very strong possibility for them and they can now plan for next season knowing they already have Coutinho's replacement set up and have a further 50m + extra's ready for them.

If it weren't for how awesome City have been this year I'd say a few sensible defensive signings would have Liverpool set next year and they would be a true threat.

As it is, City will take some catching.

Klopp is brilliant in his handling of this.

So many fans blaming Wenger for the team selection, but these are still highly payed Arsenal players & should perform much better given the level they're supposed to be at.

Forest were great though, credit to them.

And for Newport knocking out Leeds.

    USA misses the world Cup
    Jonathan Gonzalez chooses Mexico
    Pulisic plays for Mourinho.

Well. They do say bad things happen in threes.

But, in all honesty, yes - from a pure marketing standpoint, Manchester United signing the biggest name in US Soccer makes perfect sense - especially since he's the rare American with talent and ability to make the cut there. Whatever transfer fee they'd pay for him, they'd quickly make up in money made in the US Market.

I mean, as a BVB fan, I'd resigned myself to the fact that he'd be sold a little while ago. As a BVB fan, the thought was just "Not Bayern". As a US fan, though, I think I'd prefer to see him with Klopp and Liverpool, if those are the two choices, but honestly Bayern would be the top choice. Maybe PSG swoops in, and combats FFP rules with "we are agressively targeting US dollars"?

I really fancy Big Sam to get a famous Wembley draw today. Probably 1-1, with Everton's goal from a penalty after a player goes down because of a gust of wind. It's Sam's Way.

Liverpool playing a good agressive pressing game.

Had City under pressure somewhat, until their defence make it easy again.

Still, should be an interesting 2nd half.

Auba, Pulisic not playing today, but I'm excited to see Isak get a start in league. Pulisic has a minor injury, but Auba is suspended again, have to wonder when he gets sold, and how much these suspensions lower his eventual pricetag.

Exciting game, great when two attacking sides go at each other.

More teams with better defenders should try this more aggressive tactic against City, it clearly works
