I know. I'm just so agreeable.

 

The Life of Brian is funnier, from the little bits I've seen. Holy Grail is just lame IMO, but I think the reason I really don't like it is just the way I was first exposed to it.

 

Ive never watched the show, but after finding out how awful AMC treated Frank Darabont after the first season, i cant bring myself to watch it. Not really being interested is also a reason why i havent watched it.

Might read the comics at some point though, have heard great things about them.

 

I still cannot believe how awesome R1 is and that I rank it second. I honestly wish it would drop, so as to return some of my old beloved SW films higher, but each time I watch R1, I like more. It's almost becoming too good, imo.

 

Rogue One is pretty darn close to my ideal for a SW tie-in. Not perfect, but I liked pretty much every thing about it. It dovetailed beautifully with ANH and bridged the gap super well.

 

Dont waste your time with the show. The comics are very good though, but also very dark.

 

The thing about R1 is the acting. They are all brilliant. There is suitable time given to everyone to show they are real people in a an absolutely terrible reality. Jyn's family situation is established perfectly, and their relationship with Saw and Krennic.

And as a side note, no offense to anyone, it is refreshing to not have any ******* porgs, ewoks, or gungans distracting from the narrative.

It's a war film. Star Wars! I like it. Director Krennic, as a villain, and as acted, is tops.

The new composer deserves millions of dollars for what he created. Tough act to follow and he equalled the maestro.

As for droids, K-2SO is incredible. So funny and wise and sincere. ****Threepio lol.

Brilliant shots of the Star Destroyers and the final Scarif battle.

Most amazing new characters like Chirrut and Baze. Let's not forget Bohdi. And Raddus. Lol. Totes rad.

Anyhow, tl;dr
I could analyze and discuss R1 for hours.
It is truly a SW masterpiece. Imo.

 

Thats what I'm planning on doing, right after finishing the books and comics I've bought but haven't read yet.

I can deal with dark, as long as its not "crossed" levels of dark.

 

I actually like Porgs though. They were not overused and actually had a practical reason to exist

@Dagobahsystem have you seen the Thrawn Trilogy comics? I know they exist, but I have no idea when they were published or if they're out of print. I'm sure you already know of them, it seems like something you'd be interested in.

 

Hey. I was just saying it was refreshing to not have a cute species of alien to market for toys in a SW film.

I like porgs, gungans, and ewoks.
