ST Which beloved "fan favourite" should they bring back to kill off in Episode IX?

He may not be a fan favorite, but Ematt may be next.

With Leia gone, he's the oldest non alien guy on the resistance

 

I honestly don’t much care about Chewy. I know that bothers the OT purists a ton but I seriously don’t care that much about him and never have. And more than that, I think it’s a good money bet he dies onboard the Falcon (I agree it will be destroyed, it’s a miracle it’s still here) with Chewy doing something heroic. It would be lame for the main plot I fully admit this but it would be poetic if Chewy rammed the Falcon right up Kylo’s booty and killed him for killing Han. Lol

 

Well whose left?

Lando,Leia, R2D2, C3PO, chewy?

Will they be able to resist killing another character off?

 

I was sure Nien Nunb would die in TLJ like Ackbar.

They could be holding off on him until IX.

 

I'm happy Nien has survived up to this point. I wasn't expecting him to be in the last two movies before the trilogy started. A Lando reunion would be icing on the cake. If he goes in 9, he better go out a hero and not an off screen death like Ackbar.

The Falcon being destroyed & Chewie dying are the two things i fear the worst to happen in Episode 9.If Chewie sacrifices himself in the Falcon for the heroes,i will be a wreck in the cinema.

 

If they want to get rid of him I hope they do it somehow like that:
At the end of IX he takes C3PO, R2D2 and the Porg to the falcon and leaves to go back to Kashyyyk once and for all, after providing a deeply emotional farewell scene together with Rey.

Chewie dying would be the one thing I could not cope with!

 

I hope Chewie/R2/3PO all die in Ep9. With BB8 here...I dont see the need for any of the old side characters to remain. Rey already has the Falcon. Finn will be her co-pilot. Chewie aint needed.

 

I have heard people speculating that the Falcon could be next to go...

Well if you want shock value then having the Falcom be destroyed would certainly do it.

 

I just want them to bring back Lando and not to kill him

 

Kylo consecutively likes meeting old men from his life and slicing his lightsaber though them: Lor San Tekka, Han, Snoke, and Luke.

Do we really want Lando to come back to suffer the same fate?

 

Sadly I think the only thing that will remain from the PT & OT post IX will be the name Star Wars. Everything established prior to TFA will be eliminated so the name "Star Wars" can be attached to anything Disney makes that takes place in outer space or on another planet. I fully expect Chewy, 3PO, & R2 will be obliterated while on the Falcon. Leia is obviously going to die, and I suspect no new Jedi order will actually be built. In fact I expect Rey will no longer fight with a lightsaber, and Kylo will lose his somehow. Tie fighters and X-wings will be replaced by new fighters, as well as replacing all the large cruisers from both sides of the fight. Eventually the Force will go dormant again, and no other characters will be able to access it.

 

Why do they need to be killed off? Leia will almost certainly die between episode 8 and 9

 

Makes you think about what if Carrie was alive, would she automatically get killed just because Han and Luke got the same treatment? The one silver lining now is they can’t do the predictable and kill Leia in the actual movie. Well they tech could still but you know what I mean.

 

They could always make Leia outlive the movie

 

They could and that may have been the original plan.

 

He might not be the only one, but I can see Nien Nunb dying in Episode IX.

Since they won't kill off R2, 3PO, and Chewie.

Nien's the next best OT person to be expendable.

 

I am pretty sure that was the original plan. That is pure speculation though.

Has to be Lando. I will be SO pissed if we don't see him in Episode IX.

He's just too important to the saga to just be ignored-even if he doesn't appear, he should at the VERY LEAST be mentioned! Just expecting the fans to just....forget about him, and not notice his absence is not acceptable. And I don't want to have to read just a blurb in some book just to find out what he's been up to all these years-especially given now his old friend Han's gone.
