Yeah whoever the girl is it's going to be an entirely brand new character. Have read pretty much all the novels and comics up to this point and no existing character fits that look in this particular time period.

Looking at it again it is hard to tell if she is on Vader's side or not. She has a hologram of him. Is she talking to him or just looking at an image of him? Gah. Now I can't wait for this issue to come out.

@Darth Kickass I say no to it being Rook but there is a chance. Here is an image of Rook from the Son of Dathomir comic.



She definitely looks a little different from the girl in the upcoming issue but it would be the correct timeline for it to be Rook.

 

I guess it's an entirely new character because Heather tweeted this.



Now she didn't say that the woman in those panels is that new character, but I highly suspect it.

Well, she says it's a character never-before-seen in the Darth Vader comics, not that it's a new character.

 

A new female character is exciting to me. Marvel already created so many memorable characters like Aphra or Tolvan. Whoever this lady may be, I hope she'll stick around.

 

Ah, it's a two-part arc. That explains why both issues are being released in Feb. Then the new long arc with Tarkin will start in March. I have to say, the premise for this arc sounds somewhat similar to the first half of Darth Vader and the Ninth Assassin.

 

The new character looks like Tifa Lockhart.



Oh that image will take some folks back to the days. By the way I would just like to add do you know how hard it is to find an image of Tifa Lochart that is appropriate to put on this forum. Crazy Final Fantasy fan artists.

 

Is that Gilderoy Lockhart's daughter? I thought he was a blonde.

 

No. Tifa Lockhart was one of the main characters from Final Fantasy 7. Arguably the most famous video game ever made and what pretty much made RPG's popular in America.

The cover for 14 is GORGEOUS!!!!

This reminds me of years ago, when I asked on the Sci-fi Stack Exchange if anyone thought that Vader's suit could work underwater. I guess I was right. If I hadn't stopped reading comics, I'd purchase 14 just to see an aquatic Vader.

 

Holy crap that first cover is just fabulous.

 

There isn't a single issue cover preview that doesn't make me commit to purchasing it immediately. Based on the covers alone. And then the issues always turn out to be superb. Love this title.

Does anyone think that Palpatine wanted Jocasta alive for a different reason than just the list of Force sensitive children? Because if Palpatine wanted the list only, then he would have order Vader and/or the Inquisitors to either:

-kill Jocasta straight away and retrieve the list themselves

or

-Use Jocasta to find the list and kill her after that

Yet, Vader avoided killing her altogether (well, until he didn't, but then again he disobeyed Sheev's order that way)

 

Palpatine wanted Jocasta alive for her to lead them to hidden Jedi enclaves like the one where she hid herself to avoid Order 66. She also had extensive access to the Coruscant Jedi Temple including rooms which were apparently secret from the rest of the Order.
