I think my cousin Marie is Bipolar and if she is she most likely got it from her father.

There are days that i wonder why I live where it's so cold at times, especially with my FIL totaling the van because of freezing rain (don't worry, he's just banged up), then i see pics of big spiders and snakes *shudders* and I am thankful that I don't live where they are.

Welcome Newbies and Old Friends. :)

They all line up, they move the ball 1 meter in one direction, then fall on top of one another. Then they stop for twenty minutes, line up, and move the ball 1 meter in the other direction. 3 hours later, they're all right back where they started. :p Full disclosure: I may be American, but I'm really not into football. Give me hockey any day!
Relaxed is good. Hope the money you got from the stressful job paid off a bill or went into savings or something.
I will send you any I see! Spiders are my biggest ick! I had my eyes closed through a major chunk of Return of the King and Chamber of Secrets. We used to have a lot in my apt, but they cut down a big tree outside my bedroom & I don't see so many now. Either that, or his Majesty has taken charge. (if it moves, it's a cat toy)
Seriously! That photo? I'd be halfway down the road by that time, screaming blue murder the whole way! Snakes, I actually don't mind so much.

Millicent and her twin sister have moved in to the apartment downstairs. I saw them on the way to the parking lot. They were at the window, on guard. His Majesty is firmly Team Blackie.

And the FF Nominations are up! Man, I have a lot to read before the 11th! And so many GOOD stories to choose from! This is going to be hard!

My younger brother was the most extreme case as his also carried crippling social anxiety disorder. He also was the biggest success as he went from dropping out of high school because it wasn't challenging enough and he'd build up the fear in his head and just trying to find a way out to graduating from college with a degree and leading his own group at his job. The rest of the family are in various less severe cases and some deal with it while others runs from it. The one common thread through out though seems to be an inability to see any other way out of a problem than the path right in front of them. It has made for and interesting time the last 25 years or so. My wife tells me because of it I see bipolar disorder where there is none but I tend to think I see what's there and relate it to my experiences.

It is snowing again. This storm is supposed to last 48 hours and we are supposed to get double the snow we got on Sunday. They are calling for 40-50 cms. So I'm glad I went out yesterday.

Thanks. Thankfully I won't have to leave the house anytime in the next few days. I didn't exactly stock up on food yesterday, but I have more than enough to get me through the storm.

Expecting 2 to 4 inches of snow in the early to mid-morning hours tomorrow. I have a 30-minute drive to school in the morning, so I'm hoping classes get canceled. (I'm also hoping that because I have two quizzes tomorrow that I'm not entirely prepared for.)

My sense of humour confuses people. *shrug*

So, yeah, that was a wasted day. I went to bed at six in the morning after a nice, fragrant bath and woke up...

...twelve hours later. Spent two hours outside with a friend and our dogs. We were at the school yard and Judi totally owned the bigger dog.

I need to reply to @Thorn058, but my column is waiting...

WARNING! If you or a loved one is in an accident make sure that injuries and limitations are explained to your caretaker or you. My FIL has a Subdural Hematoma from the accident and my MIL wasn't informed until today after he helped pickup the rental vehicle and took ibuprofen. It said on the paper they sent home with him but they didn't make sure she knew about it

Managed to get out of work about a half-hour early. Good thing, too. Roads are already bad here.

I once took AP Physics... what a mistake that was! As for Calculus, I have forgotten it completely. [face_blush]

Is it snowing everywhere but here again? We haven't had any proper winter at all so far, and I'm beginning to wonder if we'll have to ration water this summer.

    Meanwhile in Chyntuckopolis:

When I came home from work, my nephews and nieces were paying their daily visit to my grandmother, and I noticed that my little niece was scratching her head.

Then my older nephew started scratching his head too.

Then one of the two Somali nieces started scratching her head as well.

(You all know where this is going, don't you?)

And my mother-in-law. My cousin. My other cousin's husband.

Yeah. We all have head lice. We managed to avoid sharing around the various colds, flus and gastroenteritises that the kids bring from school so far, but you know what they say about karma

I was at the math and science centered group in high school, because mom and dad did not allow me to be in the language and arts centered one. It was a nightmare. I do like physics, chemistry and the like, but the amount of math in all of those makes the experience unpleasant. I tend to randomly write bizarre things, such as 3 x 9 = 29, 15 + 12 = 17 and then I fail bigtime. If one can have dyslexia for math, I have it.

Today has been okay so far. I avoided a fit of rage last night and remained silently angry at somebody who never made me angry before. Woke up no longer angry and it was good. Currently messing with thank yous to readers and the database issues on one of my servers. It's 5 degrees Celsius outside, but the crazy wind makes it feel like -1. No snow, whatsoever. I still want snow. :(

Your brother also seems to be an unique person in terms of how his mind works. A lot of us abandon simple tasks, but he kinda took it too far.

But the combo of those two - bipolar, I saw it in this one girl and the reasons she doesn't socialise and sometimes even remains inside for days are hard for me to even understand. I was supposed to help her transfer her website from wordpress.com to own hosting space, she just disappeared. She freaks out at the idea that we have to talk.

Your wife never experienced what you did, but I get that she wants to comfort you.

There actually is something called "dyscalculia."

We were forecast to get some snow in Missouri last night, but nothing came out of it. It was just cold. So, I spent yesterday and today working on one of my Christmas presents.

That's why I always made sure that either myself or my mother went in with my grandmother when she went to the doctor. They were all very understanding about it.

Would make sense in my case, as a mild form. I remember dates to the point where it's frightening, but simple operations? I could look at it ten times, know it by heart and I'll still make a mistake.

What ship is that? Looks cool!

Doesn't help here. One has to be super-informed, to the point of ridiculous.
