Please tell me the people behind you were watching a wild pig being roasted.

lol i think they were actually watching someone's mom make her first attempt at "slacklining". they burst into applause shortly after the pic was taken, it was embarrassing for all.

I've never been to Hawaii, but I once dated a woman who grew up there. She wasn't the first woman whose last words to me were "You can go straight to hell!" but in the end I just stayed in hell where I'd been all along, and she went back to Hawaii.

as @duende mentioned earlier, it can be a surprisingly "dumpy" (to use his word) place. it's nicer when you can get off the beaten path and away from all the other tourists a bit. but i kind of liked the funkiness of it all. i mean you saw my hat, i wasn't exactly going for classy.

it was 75-80 degrees every day. i'm sure that's chilly to someone, but not to me!

we didn't dine at the lip of a volcano, but i did eat like a whole volcano's worth of tacos.

we chilled really hard and watched both bridget jones's diary and bridget jones's baby, not realizing that we skipped over a second movie that for some reason isn't on netflix. we also watched all six episodes of comrade detective (highly recommend). we went on three hikes and enjoyed some spectacular views. we got in a lot of beach time. we did some swimming, but for a few of the days we were on the north shore where the waves were insane so we just watched people surf. we shopped and ate and tooled around the island in a rented jeep. i guess that's pretty much it. needed more time!

i didn't play any guitar. i was tempted to try a few ukuleles in various shops but remembered i have no idea how to play the ukulele. best food that is sort of somewhat unique to hawaii was probably the poke bowls, but you can never go wrong with tacos. bridget jones's baby was a lot like bridget jones's diary. a lot of awkward situational comedy and colin firth being drab. i liked it.

edit: i did see several starfish!

Do I have to get an Instagram to not get kicked out of the in-crowd? This is getting exhausting.

oahu. we skipped the spam this time, though we of course saw it everywhere. have to say it wasn't that tempting.

edit: yes dave, get one. cancel your facebook if it makes it easier!
