I'm going to Tulsa OK (so halfway across the US), their hometown for their annual Hanson Day celebration. It's 4 days of Hanson. The only reason I haven't been since it became a four day event is because my kids were little. The last time I went was in '07 when it was just one concert.

Holy hell, that's a far drive. Or flight. Or whatever...but it's not "just" for a concert. Four days is worth traveling that far.

[face_laugh] I'm flying. It would be a two day car trip each way. That wouldn't be all bad, but I don't want to take too many days off work or dessert my family for that long either. .

Time for you to have a bit of personal space Runner, good on you! Took me years to learn how to do that!!

Going away in March for 4 days, taking my mother to see her sister interstate. Her brother died late last year and that was the 3rd sibling she's lost now and she is the youngest. Her sister Mary is declining and its only a 6 hour drive to see her, so I booked a cabin for us and am taking her to spend time with her.

This planet is indeed a world of extremes. Stay cool, Adalia.

Yeah. I understand the world's need for temperature changes if we want certain crops to flourish, but I'm so tired of the cold (I get tired of it before it begins).
Still, having 41C temps doesn't sound terribly pleasant in the humidity of my state either.

Anything in the range of 0-25 degrees Celsius is my preferred temp.

I know I just don’t mind anything until it starts freezing and I do mind stuff when it starts to get to hot.

Trust me I do plenty for me. I think it's cause my parents gave me so much (not $ so much as just my parents never did anything for themselves always stuff for us kids). So I am used to getting stuff for me since birth, hard habit to break. Hopefully I give enough to my kids.

Hope you and your mom have a very special time.

It's dry heat here, like a desert. Hot winds that crack you lips and dehydrate you fast. Water is in high demand.

Even I hate sand, and one of the things NJ is known for is its beaches :p

@Adalia-Durron - hm. Dry heat has its benefits, but dehydration just sucks.

Ugh yeah. Bad in the bitter cold and bad when caused by dehydration. Hurts so much when they crack enough to bleed *hugs*

I ain't got time to bleed.

Edit: Well, yeah, I guess I have time, but saying "I got time to bleed" just sounds dumb.

Hi guys. Been a little while since I've been here. I'm blaming it on not getting notifications from this board.

I just edited about 200 pictures this week. I got a new lightbox so I spent the weekend taking new/better pictures of all my bead boxes and then spent the week editing and uploading said pictures. I'm mostly done.

I'm also very much over winter, we had 5 or so inches this week and I'm done.

No snow here, our kids got off school Wednesday for rain. You see it rained Sunday night so Monday morning some parking lots and sidewalks were icy. I can attest that I had to walk very carefully from my car to my office Monday, but I was fine. Anyway Tuesday night they were predicting possible freezing rain. So they closed school Wednesday. Temps never dropped below 35 all because parents complained about how unsafe it was Monday  And we wonder why the kids are growing up soft. At least wait until the day of school to assess the weather. Besides if you just invest in a little rock salt to toss on the sidewalks you can open. I mean seriously places north of here would be closed every day for months....and no I don't live in the deep south. It's Virginia it snows here....EVERY YEAR. Sometimes several times in one winter.
