Kenobi : Ewan McGregor in potential Kenobi movie OR series

Can you imagine if Lucas was to be a Producer/Executive Producer on a Dalrdry directed Obi-Wan movie starring Ewan McGregor?

Even I'd be happy!

 

Wow, that's a great call. He's certainly got the Guinness about him.

I mean, this Ineson fella is new to me, so no idea about his chops, or anything. But if I didn't already love Ewan in the role of Obi as much as I do (and I really, really do)...
Nah, just kidding. It's Ewan or bust!

 

The Witch is pretty good. It stars Ineson and Kate Dickie (also TLJ and GoT).

 

After doing the survey about gift cards, I read the article, and to be honest I think all we know is that George Lucas was in Ireland, eating in a restaurant. And then lots of projection of what that means.

It may mean he's having a nice holiday in Ireland.

But... Filming in Ireland goes against the popular "Seven Samurai on Tatooine" theory. And it could be Episode 9 stuff, or some project that's not Star Wars at all. Or his wife is at a conference.

Or it's just a holiday.

After all my snark, there is the hint that they are filming something Star Wars in Belfast in studios used by GoT.

Could be one of many things though.
There's TV to be filmed too.

 

George could be scouting locations for the sequel to THX-1138. After 48 years on the surface, THX decides to go back to the city. He says to himself: "It's time for me to get low."

 

The Blade Runner sequel having demonstrated the eminent bankability of big budget followups to dystopian cult films from three or four decades back, this seems the best explanation by far.

 

Hopefully, we will hear more official news on the Kenobi spinoff soon

They will show him at the first Jedi temple stealing all the interesting stuff just to fool Luke decades later

 

Seems like the rumors about the film are spinning again... Now there are several articles (mostly gossip I think) about potential Kenobi movie shooting in Belfast in 2019.

 

When I read that they are shooting in Belfast, the first thing I thought was, 'if true, this would confirm that they would be taking Obi-Wan off of Tatooine for part of the movie'. But then I read where it would be Shot at Paint Hall Studios. So not Belfast, for Location Shooting then.

Interesting that this is where they are Shooting Game of Thrones. Hmmm... Are Benioff & Weiss involved with the Kenobi movie, like I was speculating. I wish Disney would just come out and anounce this movie already.

 

Fascinating that they're speculating Lucas might return to direct. I doubt it will happen, but who knows. Maybe Lucas got the directing itch again visiting the sets of Rogue One and Solo.

 

Personally, I would welcome any involvement from Lucas in these new Star Wars movies. They could use Lucas's touch; even if it is just to help out with Story/Visual ideas.

 

I agree though I doubt he would actually want to direct a whole film. Maybe a scene or two. And not like Disney would let him lol.

 

No disrespect to the man...but at least he could be kept in check since he doesn't own the SW universe anymore! Get out into the real world GL - It's a wonderful place! Films should not be made on a cpu

A low key film set in desert like ANH would be right up his alley.

 

I think when he said he was done directing Hollywood movies he meant it. He could come on to help, but I doubt it would be more then that.

 

I wouldn’t be surprised if Lucas got the itch to direct again, I could also see him working with a co-director instead of mounting an entire movie by himself at this point.
