UKIP are basically the UK GOP, but smaller, less insane and not that religious.

Carillion has collapsed. The government is guaranteeing all state-run projects.

Meanwhile, BoJo wants a 22-mile Channel Bridge! Yay, that'll work.

    (No, no it won't)

It is very likely, before 2022 General Election, this will happen. A private bill, from a Labour MP, is set to bring this to the Commons and it is likely to pass (private members bills are not legally binding); Wales and other parts of the UK (Scotland, I think) are set to give 16 year olds the right to vote in local elections.

There is no real reason to oppose votes at 16. If you can pay income tax, buy a home, join the army and get marry - then there is no reason why cannot pass a ballot at an election.

And there's the links between youth and spending other people's money, so another indicator it'd benefit Labour.

Isn't it usually the young who pay for all those government services that are used by the elderly?

What? No. Get out of here with that Americentist nonsense. You're talking about pooled risk in health insurance. You don't start out well paid, that hits in your 30s and 40s as you hit senior managerial roles.

Amercentrism is cancer of the AIDS.

Can we prevent Americans from posting here, until they've become accustomed to our noble ways?
