Anyone seen Black Panther or going to see it soon?? Here some good things about it.

 

Just got back from it. HOLY ****. GO SEE IT. If you haven't already, I mean. This movie was cinematically beautiful, heartwarming, sad, and filled with excellent character motivation, especially the villain, holy crap. Amazing. 10/10. Second favorite Marvel movie behind Iron Man. I cannot praise Black Panther enough

 

I rarely visit the cinema, catching up sometimes years later, I'll keep that one in mind. A few I've watched fairly recently.

Bladerunner 2049 - Yeah, more Bladerunner, and they didn't **** it up.Great visuals, though they can be a bit bare at times. The soundtrack is more Eno, KC or even Silent Hill than Vangelis, not as memorable as the original but I like it after three viewings. The subdued K is played really well by Gosling. K and Luv as the Angel who has learnt to lie and kill in order to bring a gift to heaven are what makes the film for me (beyond the eye and ear candy) - even though it presents a possible issue; replicants who obey are potentially as lethal as those in the original, where were the safeguards. The writers may also have got the answer to the question posed in the original over whether Deckard was a replicant. 8.4/10

Dredd - "It's a sleeper, "I don't know why it didn't do well at the box office"
I do. A nasty piece of humourless crap with no story.

Interstellar- hmm, sort things out on earth or we'll have to hope for a paradox involving our descendants - nice visuals. 2001 meets Contact but less satisfying than either. The more I think about it the more issues I have. Could have done without the Damon character and the 'Love' speech. Too much back and forth towards the end. That paradox is really an insurmountable problem - best viewed out of the corner of your eye than faced head on.7/10

 

Thanks for letting me know. I"ve seen Interstellar. Interesting movie. Haven't seen the other two, but interested in Bladerunner.

 

Just saw it this afternoon and it was great! The biggest thing that stood out to me was the fact that it gave me an understandable sympathetic villain. There were a couple scenes regarding his back story and as short as they were they were so much more by way of a film showing us his motivations and reasons rather than telling us. Killmonger is more relatable in one film than Kylo is after two. The female characters were well written and strong. The world building was interesting and the scenery was beautiful. It introduced some great new players into the MCU.

 

I couldn't resist and saw the movie myself. All I can say is: WOW!!! This isn't your typical Marvel movie. My only criticism is the pace (which is slow at times) and the length. But it had my full attention. Gorgeous cinematography, great world building, character development in just over two hours, a narrative, action, "nether world" building (would LOVE to see a bit of Luke in something like this), etc. GREAT characters that have a developed arc. All actors were wonderful, but my favourite is the actress who played T'CHALA's general. I"m sorry, forgot her name (have to look I up). She was amazing. Strong female character with personality. Lupita, Angela and the rest of ladies were fabulous! Hats off to the gentleman as well. Michael B. Jordan, amazing!

Ok, I'm tired. Need a rest. But left feeling very good about this film. Just lengthy and some pacing issues.

Otherwise, Bravo Ryan Coogly.

I did feel that it slowed down a bit at one point too.

Currently wondering what Marvel has planned for our surprise guest at the end credits. Especially with the easter egg reference they used.

 

black panther is amazing!! i've seen it twice now and am planning to go again some time soon. it's in my top 3 along with captain america: the winter soldier and thor ragnarok.

Finally, I have seen the movie
It was amazing
The story was good, even if it rendered the entirety of the OT obsolete

People are taking things far too seriously and blowing so many parts of the film out of proportion and clouding the water of what did and didn't happen

Kinda depressing, but to be expected nowadays
