Congrats to Williams for notching yet another Oscar nod.

Gah, it's so frustrating the Academy had altered the rules during the prequel era, otherwise Williams would have probably been nominated for his prequel soundtracks, and even might have won an additional Oscar.

3:20-4:20 a bit of unreleased music? (with some other uninteresting stuff spliced over top intermittently)

I figured once the score of The Last Jedi got an Oscar nomination, I might as well buy it. It certainly makes the commute to and from work a whole lot more triumphant! Star Wars films have experienced a long Oscar drought, c'mon Academy, at least give one to this great soundtrack!

Canto Bight might have my favorite in universe music since the Mos Eisley cantina.

I've said it before I'll say it again -- I felt it needed more leitmotifs. But I love the soundtrack. It's been in my car for morning commutes the past month

I liked it. It'll grow on me like TFA's score did.

Agreed, I don’t know how anyone could say they didn’t love that track, it’s one of the best! It was top notch work.

Another part I love that probably gets overlooked is the music as Finn grabs his bag and meets Rose. It continues through their discussion with Poe. It’s almost like creeping around music, kind of mysterious.

The music as Rey enters the cavernous meditation room with Luke is also great and reminds me of some prequel music with Yoda as he worries about Anakin.

The score for TLJ is very strong indeed. I expect nothing less from Williams but it’s certainly even better as you see the movie more times.

Most movies I rarely notice the music on first viewing, so if I do, it was a great score. Sorry The Post didn’t stick out at all even a little bit lol but I loved the movie.

Such a treat! One more journey to Episode IX, and it's a completed one. Thank you John Williams for the music! :)

    Rey's theme...so soothing.
    A New Alliance...a nice piece.
The Force theme influenced songs like Jedi Steps, and Peace and Purpose. Brilliant.

Im kind of blown away by how Luke is represented in John William's music between ANH, RoTJ and TLJ.

Give those a listen ignoring the context of each film. It's something along the lines of a journey from a brash youth to an educated jedi and finally a legendary master.

I am not a fan at all of the ST scores. The only tracks I like are Kylo's theme and Jedi Steps. Rey's theme is ok too. Aside from that, I find the rest to be recyled and uninspired compared to the OT and PT...which is unfortunate.

Saying that however, I really do hope that he gets an Oscar for Ep9. He truely was robbed for Oscars for the PT scores. I cant remember but he won for ESB right? If not......:mad::mad::mad::mad:

And note how we don’t hear Luke’s theme in TLJ....(except for a brief snippet in a non-Luke scene).

JW knows what’s up ;) He must have known he’d have the opportunity to revisit it in 9.
