My understanding was that it was originally meant to be ambiguous, that is how it was written, there is no way to tell from the writing whether it was Bane having assumed Zannah's identity, or Zannah herself with a remnant of Bane remaining, or even an equal amalgamation of both, creating a new personality. It is obviously not clear, like Karpyshyn later said. Every reader was meant to have their own idea on which it was, there would be no right or wrong answer. But I read somewhere that Drew Karpyshyn got so many fans asking him who won, that he just got sick of it and wrote that blog post. That is why he sounds a bit annoyed there.

Yeah, I thought it was one of the cooler parts of the series, mainly because it *was* ambiguous, and looked as if it were meant to be intentionally, which is a literary device we don't often get in SW.

Yes, it certainly makes for a better ending and creates that discussion point.

The same kind of thing happened to Drew's Revan character in KotOR. There was no canon gender for Reven, or canon way to play and end the game, and fans were free to discuss which version of Revan they preferred or thought worked best in the story. But then all the mystery was taken away when someone at LFL decided that Revan would be a lightsided man in canon encyclopedia publications.

Of course, years later, EA then paid him $$$$ to write the Revan novel and totally ruin the character.

Can anybody help me with my Legends reading list? Here's what I have so far:

    Death Star- read
Star Wars IV A New Hope novelization - read
Splinter of the Minds Eye - read
Star Wars V The Empire Strikes Back novelization - read
Shadows of the Empire - read
Star Wars VI Return of the Jedi novelization- read
The Truce at Bakura - read
Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor - read
    X-Wing: Rogue Squadron- read
    X-Wing: Wedge’s Gamble - read
X-Wing: The Krytos Trap - read
X-Wing: The Bacta War - read
    X-Wing: Wraith Squadron
    X-Wing: Iron Fist
    X-Wing: Solo Command
    The Courtship of Princess Leia
    Tatooine Ghost
    Heir to the Empire
    Dark Force Rising
    The Last Command
    X-Wing: Isard’s Revenge

All novels on the list so far, but I have also been reading some graphic novels recently as well. I am wondering if I should add them to this list or keep them seperate. I'm not certain if I'd want to commit to reading all the comics that happen to fall in this time period. I am at least planning on reading Dark Empire at some point. There are earlier novels like the Han Solo Trilogy I want to go back and read too. I am planning on reading at least up to the Hand of Thrawn duology as part of this effort.

Read Courtship before Wraith-Iron-Solo. While chronologically later, it was published earlier and the story reads better that way.

In Legends, has anyone ever controlled most or even all of the Outer Rim? I know the Rakata controlled Tatooine and a number of systems, but I don't think majority of them. Or was this ever addressed?

The Atlas suggests the Infinite Empire was never actually contiguous. Pretty sure nobody has ever "actually" ruled the Outer Rim.

When I went to my local shop today to pick up the new Star Wars issue, I was presented with a copy of "Tag and Bink Was Here" as well, since it had been put in my pull box as well. I immediately saw the Legends banner on the cover and remarked that I wasn't interested in collecting reprints from the Legends universe. I was then informed that the title was being brought into the new canon due to the characters' inclusion in the new Solo movie. Does anyone know if there's any truth to this? I've never read it before, but I have read that the Tag and Bink stories were never considered canon, even in the old EU. I do know that Ron Howard tweeted a tease of the characters' potential inclusion in the new movie however.

I can find nothing about this on the internet. And like you said even in Legends they were never considered canon (they're parodies). I think whoever told you this was mistaken. Even if Tag and Bink do appear as background characters in Solo like Ron Howard said, it dosn't bring the comics "back into canon". Just like Thrawn appearing on Rebels didn't mean The Thrawn Triliogy was made canon.

I hadn't been able to find anything either, but I just wanted to see if anyone else had because I actually like and trust my local guy. He's actually been really informative and helpful in the past so I was hesitant to call B.S. when he said what he said. My gut instinct told me he just wanted me to pick it up so he'd get the sale but I didn't want to believe he'd do that. I just hope maybe he was misinformed himself and passed it on to me

Apart from the question on Legends or not, I enjoyed the Tag and Bink stories.

I wouldn't worry about it, what is and isn't canon is an easy mistake to make.

In between ROTS and ROTJ, did the average person living in the Empire know who Vader was?

IIRC the Propaganda book seems to indicate that while he was always something of a boogeyman, Vader became more of a well known public figure after the destruction of the Death Star.

In regards to the Tag and Bink thing, it is not canon, will not be canon, was not even a part of Legends canon. It is pretty much the non canon backstory of two soon to be very canon background characters that may have their entire characters / story changed up.

We'll probably get a line in the Visual Guide under a picture of Tag and Bink that says "their adventures were legendary" and we can all have a good chuckle over it.

Is Chewie having a life debt to Han still canon? I know the absolutely everything you need to know, book said it was but that book is of dubious cannonicity

Aftermath: Life Debt brings this into the new canon.

    Han:
“I saved him, at least that’s what he says, the big fuzzy fool, but really, he saved me. I was on a bad path, and Chewie, he put me straight. Saved my shanks more than once too. He said it was part of some life debt… It means that he owes his life to me… He doesn’t owe me. I owe him. I got a debt to Chewie to get him his home back.”

Now...how that will square with the Solo movie...[face_dunno]

I'm writing some fanfic that involves a several of the Coruscanti underlevels rising up against the Republic a couple years into the Clone Wars. Not as part of the Separatists, per se, but a genuine uprising of the proletariat, etc. etc. But that isn't my question. What my question is what symbols and colors would be associated with revolutionary ideologies in the GFFA? Obviously, the tricolor, red as socialism, and so on and so forth wouldn't exist in the GFFA, but what would be likely/narratively interesting?

    I've been using this site - http://www.flagsofthegalaxy.com/#main-page - as a cool, non-canon but still interesting - resource.

Not a direct answer, but according the TPM Visual Dictionary, "Lavender was chosen for the color of the Senate interior because it was the only hue that had never been associated with war, anger, or mourning in any culture in the Republic".

So I think the answer to your question would be "it varies from planet to planet". It may seem like a cop-out answer, but I think it's accurate.

I don't remember exactly and unfortunately don't have the books with me while I'm still doing the expat thing but, the under level imagery in the Knight Errant novels may offer some inspiration.

Also, from the concept trailer and concept art depicting a portion of the under levels you can maybe get an idea as to what colors are not in use, which may make yours stand out more?

Maybe the blue-purple colour of the Senate Guards, could represent the Senate in general and the democratic ideals. It would contrast with the Imperial Red guard style.
