If novelizations are EU, then the new EU is guilty too: You can say the same that new EU is contradictory by having the 7 novel have Poe and Rey meet, and they meet again in 8. Novelizations aren't really EU, new or old.

I wonder if Lucas regretted having Han get frozen in ESB because it resulted in him having to show the rescuing of Han.

A part of me really wishes they'd go the way of Star Trek and just say **** continuity, if the result would be more interesting stories, and better novels, because at the moment everything they do is like walking on eggshells.

Because he's trying to stay away from him. It's mentioned he owes him credits in the same film and that he's been getting ready to high-tail it the hell out of there.

They were a part of Rebel Alliance High Command, which sanctioned the mission. Poe Dameron, Finn and Rose were literal nobodies, aside from Poe being a top pilot. It's like if Wedge decided to send his friends on a mission in the middle of the Battle of Endor, without consulting high command.

Well, you point it out. Palpatine had the Palace infiltrated to eliminate Luke. Vader meanwhile was busy preparing the Death Star, and he had no clue of the exact priorities of the Rebel crew.
The intent was for each part of the team to have their own go at getting Han out. The Droids would've done it through negotiation, Leia was going to do it through infiltration and Luke is pretty much the big guns, the last resort they'd use by just getting Han and fighting their way out.
I think its a matter of pride for Jabba to have captured the resistance leader and Princess of Alderaan, less so something sexual. I mean she doesn't perform or anything, she's just chained to his Palace for awhile as means of Jabba showing off.
It's not like she actually strip-danced for him, she was forcefully stripped down, put in a metal bikini and chained to his throne. There was little else to it. Also even if the events were well-known, it's not like there were pictures taken of a very brief point in time to stir up a major scandal. And the end of it, it was unwilling enslavement. I'm pretty sure that'd gain more of a sympathy vote than being reputation-ruining.

Didn't they plan on having Han's rescue in another movie? I think I read that somewhere. It's the same thing as with having Luke find his sister in the next trilogy.

I think, per The Making of Return of the Jedi, that they considered making Episode VI just the rescue of Han Solo, with Boba Fett as the big bad.

I did not said she did unbecoming things, I do say that Fey'la (or whatever new expy of Fey'la) would have been tempted to use this embarrassing episode.

If there were pictures, I guess? But like I said, I really doubt it. It was a very brief event in time and people in the SW universe don't have iPhones. The most you'd get is C3P0's record (which would've been erased by Leia herself) and Boba Fett's helmet recordings, if he even decided to take any at that single quick point in time. And let's say that he did, I doubt those recordings survived the Sarlacc even if Fett himself did. And let's say that they did, Fett's really not the type to engage in media scandals.

I have the marked impression that Space Photoshop or Space Adobe Acrobat might exist (they do exist : remember that passage, that brain bleach passage, in Planet of Twilight about a gifted holo-artist being hired to categorize, edit and index a catalogue of Hutt pornography ?)

In that case, they could probably photoshop Leia nude with or without the events in ROTJ... so what's your point?
