It's a shame to say that Bogota is a rather ugly city (in my opinion ). There's very little of the traditional Colonial architecture left and most of it either crumbled due to the material in which it was built (mostly adobe) or where demolished later by idiots who have no respect for history . Thankfully Villa Adelaida is being restored as we speak.

But yeah, if Buenos Aires in Argentina is often compared to Madrid or Paris, then think of Bogota as more like Athens

enjoyed those pics, thanks, Moll! I esp like the "ribbon tree"...it sort of reminds me of a bridge in Cologne, Germany where people put padlocks/locks of various types to reference their lovers (i think maybe there are other bridges too where ppl do that...and I think i read somewhere it's considered a nuisance at that bridge in Cologne...but I really loved seeing it as a tourist)

edit: and hi and bye, everyone...was just passing through for a quick-pop in...

 

That padlock thing happens in loads of places. I've seen it in Bakewell, Paris, and the Ponte Vecchio in Florence.
