George Lucas hates you....(about being banned)

The fact that you didn’t laugh is why George hates you. You think he’d have humurlous mopey types over for dinner?

For the record I’ve been banned & I know for a fact Lucas hates me.

Yup, it's a classic. I still get a bit teary eyed thinking about all the people I got to send to that page.

 

I have always wondered if any mods have
A.) Kept track of how many people they banned.
B.) Never banned anyone as a mod.

 

I've never seen that page - Would that have been around in 04/05 when I was banning dozens of people a day? Or is it something that's been brought in since the forums upgrade?

And @Seagoat Don't worry accidental banning's can indeed happen. I had the misfortune of wrongly banning one of our former Head Admins once (before he was head admin of course ) #awkward

My guess is after 2012. It was there when I was first banned in 2014 or 2015.

 

It was created when we left the IGN boards. Those boards had a proper unban request system - you basically submitted a request and all the mods could see it. Xenforo has one ban option - a permaban, and there is no system of sending a UR. When we mods were testing the Xenforo software we came up with the idea of a temp ban. It's just a separate security setting. All mods can see the forum and all threads. A temp-banned user can only see the forum itself and any threads he/she has created and any responses in that thread. I think it was Grimby and I that came up with the idea, and Grimby made the banner.

Yea he did it in the PT social thread after commenting hold on one sec. then messaging a users saying how the “accidentally” banned themselves. He just wanted to see if a mod could ban themselves.

 

Wait, hold on. So you object to the bit about George Lucas hating you, even though he probably has never met you, therefore does not hold that opinion, but you're okay with being called a terrible person? And if you're okay with being called a terrible person, it's probably because you agree you are a terrible person, whom George Lucas would hate if he did meet you.

 

I object to the terrible person in some instances. If your banned for being a racist ass hat then yea your a terrible person.

The terrible person one I actually completely forgot about.
