Why even have a split if it's so far in the past that they might as well be separate?

A multiverse is more interesting if the universes relate to eachother (Having split off from a main timeline)
I could have The Star Wars in my personal multiverse, but I don't because it's chronologically unrelated to the bunch.

    10. Lucas 9 part Saga EPISODE 1: Was to focus on the origins of the Jedi Knights and how they are initiated and trained
EPISODE 2: Introduction and development of Obi-Wan Kenobi

EPISODE 3: Introduction and life of Vader

EPISODE 4: There were seven different drafts of the film. At one point, they pursued buying the rights to Hidden Fortress because of the strong similarities. At one point, Luke was a female, Han was Luke's brother, Luke's father was the one in prison (interesting point for some debates) and the film featured 40 wookies

EPISODE 5: Once written, the screenplay of Empire is almost exactly what is seen on screen. The only cut scenes were those involving wampas in the rebel base (cut because of time and unsolved technical glitches) and about two minutes of Luke/Yoda Jedi training with no real dialog.

EPISODE 6: Leia was to be elected "Queen of her people" leaving her isolated. Han was to die. Luke confronted Vader and went on with his life alone. Leia was not to be Luke's sister.

EPISODE 7: Third trilogy was to focus on Luke's life as a Jedi, with very few details planned out.

EPISODE 8: Luke's sister (not Leia) appears from another part of the galaxy.

EPISODE 9: First appearance of the Emperor.

    149. Star Wars Transformers toy line/Star Wars Transformers Crossovers toy line- These series of toys are based on the famed Hasbro line of transforming robots. In this variation started in 2006, Star Wars vehicles transform into robots based on characters from the saga. Though there is little in the way of a storyline that goes with these toys, the fact that Star Wars characters can morph into transforming robots doesn't really make a whole lot of sense in the main continuity. In 2015, Transformers Animated: The Complete AllSpark Almanac was released and this universe was given a name in the Transformers franchise's "universal stream" system, Lukas 577.25 Beta. The name comes from George Lucas' name and the release date of the first Star Wars film. For more on universal streams, see this page at the Transformers Wiki: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Lukas_577.25_Beta
    150. Attacktix toy line- This toy line is actually a game where stylized action figures armed with spring-loaded weapons and features fight each other. The game included a variety of licensed characters, including Star Wars and The Transformers. A 2006 release combined both properties in a Star Wars vs. Transformers boxed set labeled an "Intergalactic Showdown." The Transformers Facebook column "Ask Vector Prime" later referred to the universe where Darth Vader fought Optimus Prime as Iocus 606.0 Beta in the above-mentioned "universal stream" system. Okay then why not have the canon and legends timelines be in different universes split by the timing of the Big Bang. Canon is 14.5 Billion BBY and Legends is I dunno 13.5 Billion BBY. The universe formed differently at different times in the multiverse? There we have a split and multiverse at the same time.

Absolutely nothing to be candid. There are two different timelines and that's pretty clear. It's just academic wrangling and academic wrangling and arguing over minutiae can be fun in its own right.

I actually had a very interesting idea related to this thread.

The premises we've all thrown around here is that the canon universe diverged from the Legends universe. But what if it's the other way around? The Legends universe diverged from canon?

We know now Luke went to the First Jedi Temple in canon with a strong desire to end the Jedi. What if in his grief, before he completely cut himself off from the Force, he meditated in the First Jedi Temple and tried to use the Force to alter time? To "flow walk" back a thousand generations and, not just end the Jedi, prevent it from having ever been formed?

Luke focused on the Prime Jedi and tried to use the Force to go back in time and give a mental push so that the Prime Jedi won't ever form the Jedi. Exhausted and thinking he failed in the attempt, Luke cut himself off completely from the Force.

Except he didn't fail. He just created a divergent timeline but was unable to alter his own.

The Prime Jedi of a thousand generations ago heard future Luke's pleas in a vision and decided not to form the Jedi! This sparked a divergent universe in which the Jedi are not ever formed on Ahch-to. However, the will of the Force demanded the Jedi still exist--the Tho Yor were created by the Force in reaction to canon Luke's time travel meddling and formed the Legends Jedi on Tython.

The entire Legends universe is a result of canon Luke's attempt to prevent the Jedi from ever existing!

They should do an anthology movie where there's a big twist that reveals it's not the ST universe, but ultimately it involves Legacy era Luke Skywalker getting sucked back in time and he kills Chris Hemsworth and that's the divergence point.

Maybe Chris Hemsworth is Revan or something iunno

For me NuCanon splits from the EU b/c the EU already has dozens of divergent timelines. If the EU itself is divergent than all the EU's alternate universes are alternate universes of an alternate universe. Better to have NuCanon be another branch of the of the obvious main branch.

I figure the Force might 'force' through its plan for the Skywalker birth to still happen as it did even if there are huge notable differences in the Clone Wars that I mentioned. Going by the 'there's a universe for everything' theory, there might be a timeline out there that has Napoleon winning the Napoleonic Wars but STILL has us talking about Star Wars on this board, just with a few differences here and there.

Of course, this is all speculation. Might go out the window if Disney gives a different origin to the Sith, for example.

I've said it before, but I think the Force has different plans in the different universes. There's universes where the Skywalkers fail quite clearly. I believe in all the universes the unique incarnations of the Force have the common goal of good triumphing. However it triumphs in different ways. Anakin, Luke and Leia all die in the TFU 2 Dark Side ending. Someone else will have to save the day. Good will win, but the destinies are all different.

So catching up on Doc Aphra, apparently Rur off of the Order of the Terrible Glare is around. Thing is, he's not leading the Terrible Glare in the New Canon. He's leading something entirely different, with very different ideals and goals - the Ordu Aspectu. This means that the events of the Pius Dea Crusades either never happened, or happened very differently. This could very well, in a way, explain why the Republic seems to be a lot less militaristic and 'Imperial' in the New Canon.

I'm pretty sure "Ordo Aspectu" is Space Latin for "Order of the Terrible Glare".

To describe something as "of fearsome aspect" can be referring to their frightening look, in more than one sense.

Yes, but the Pius Dea were humanocentric. So they’d likely rewrite their own history of Rur‘s species than acknowledge it.

The Pius Dea remnants attached themselves to Rur in CE - so I cannot see them willingly acknowledging Rur as an alien if they could rewrite it. Thus the hologram Rur, in Canon, adopts that mentality and portrays Rur as human.

Sure, you could say that, but the flashback in the Dr Aphra comic (note: they're flashbacks, not images that could've been tampered with) show him as a human. And there's also the body, of course.
