JCF 20th Anniversary Forum Feud - Thank you, Scribblers!!

Hey guys!!

July is the 20th Anniversary of the Jedi Council Forums (!!) and as part of the celebration, we're playing Forum Feud. It's like the American gameshow Family Feud but instead of pitting family against family, we're doing forum against forum. (If you don't know the gameshow you can find clips on youtube.)

This was previously done for the 12th Anniversary and it was a lot of fun, so we're bringing it back. See the old Forum Feud forum HERE

Fanfic can have up to 2 teams of 5 to represent us (both SW and NSWFF). We can also have a few alternates if you want to possibly participate but not play a full part of the game. Each team will need a Team Captain, a name, a slogan and team colors.

Signups are only a week so if you want to play, get in quick and represent us against the other forums!

I don't think so, I think that's just wear Nyota wanted to start. People can put their name anywhere on either of the teams.

I don't remember what the other fic team's colors were, but... team two was TehEbilPlotBunnies with a black highlight that I can't seem to accomplish right now... (Or something like that. Mav?)

Team 2, you guys can figure out who wants to be Team Captain (mostly the person who gives the answer if you are going for a steal, but it's good to make sure your teammates know they are up too!), team name, slogan and colors. You can discuss it here in the thread if you want other's thoughts, or via PM and then let us know here in the thread when you've got it sorted.

Yep, that's exactly what it was! And man, we lost so badly to the Role Playing Forum.

Dark and Stormy Knights was the other FF team and they were light blue font with dark blue highlight.
I only know this because the wayback machine and I have become very familiar with the old Forum Feud forum.

 

Just wanted to bump this up and see if anyone else wants to play for fanfic in Forum Feud! We have a whole team we can fill, or we can take an alternate for our current team.

And just wondering @brodiew @Raissa Baiard @WarmNyota_SweetAyesha @DaenaBenjen42 and @RX_Sith - Have you guys discussed who is going to be captain, a name, colors and a slogan? We need all of that info pretty soon after signups end.

I just wanted to let everyone know that the team representing FanFic are the - "When canon just isn't enough... Fanfic!"

Their first game will be against Literature Team 1. I'll let everyone know when they are playing so you can make sure to cheer on your forum team!

The show itself is kinda hard to explain, that's why I said check out clips on youtube (and I just learned that there is also an Australian version). But basically it's a gameshow where two families face against each other. The host asks a question such as "Name something that never seems to be on time" and the answers are based on 100 people they surveyed. The points are given based on how many people in the survey gave that answer. Sometimes it gets really hard to get an answer once the obvious ones are gone and/or people just being on the spot so the answers tend to get really silly.

THIS is a good example of a fully game as it is on TV, (hopefully it works for you). The game it's self starts around 2:20. HERE is an example of silly answers people give.

 

Oh those were UNFORGETTABLE!

 

There's also an example from two rounds of the Avengers Movie Releases: Avengers Family Feud and Infinity War Family Feud.

And I was going to ask... @Ewok Poet ...do you want to be our alternate?

Take a look at how the current games are going, it will probably make more sense.
Basically, there was a survey that they game makers asked 100 people. If 20 people say A, 15 people say B, and 7 people say C, and then when asked the question someone in the game says B, 15 points go on in the bank. The team keeps going until they get all the answers on the board or they get 3 wrong answers. If they get three wrong answers, the other team gets the chance to answer and if they get one answer, they get the whole Bank of points, if they don't, the other team gets the bank of points. First team to 300 points wins.

 

Will do. My left brain is a joke and has been mostly emitting static noise recently, but I hope I'll figure it out.

I was kinda planning on being the alternate if one is needed, but if someone else wants it, they are free to do so.
